Jailbait

Someone in the Special Branch production office was certainly getting their kicks from filming pub strippers.

Another one is featured here, I think this one was all woman.

It starts off with an aborted jailbreak. The target might have been Eastry, jailed for spying for the East Europeans or Finch a bank robber.

Craven needs to find out if this was politically motivated. If the breakout attempt was made by the members of Eastry's band.

There was a sense of the Moxon era Special Branch about this. Especially with the introduction of Strand (Paul Eddington) an intelligence chief for Series 4.

Craven and Hagerty discover that they were used and someone else was pulling the strings.

There are several action scenes and many familiar stuntmen were used.

I did not know whether to laugh or cry over the chase scene involving a snout called Sprague who once shared a cell with Finch and Eastry. He mets a sticky end when he fell into a river.

As Craven era Special Branch was quick to clamp down on racially insensitive remarks. This is another episode that makes insensitive remarks about homosexuals. Eastry is gay.
