Interesting topic

Yes, I was particularly moved by this topic which takes place in occupied France, because I am French myself and interested in WW2. Every one knows that during this dark period, there were so many traitors or turn coat people spreading everywhere. This is a well made episode which I did not expect to find in this show. The mayor character deserves to be analysed to fully understand his behavior. And that's the purpose of this story, I guess. French movie industry was not daring enough to speak about this period of shame but also courage. Thanks to the US entertainment to evoke it. Maybe one day, they'll do it for the Algerian war. I won't reveal you the ending of this story, but please watch it if you can.

Horrible scripting

It's difficult to sit through this drama about informing and guilt, due to a mixed-up, utterly phony screenplay that tries to manipulate the viewer and fails miserably.

Herbert Berghof overact in search of pathos as a French small-town mayor who informs on 30 of his constituents to the Germans, while we watch them being executed, and a drummer accompanies it on the soundtrack.

Very gimmicky plot twists try to distract, but the revelation of WHY he finked on his countrymen is unconvincing at the finale. The moral issues involved are hopelessly muddled, and I didn't believe a moment of the show as it unspooled.
