Arguably the best so far.

A bridge collapses during rush hour traffic, killing and injuring a group of unsuspecting travellers, it turns out that economies were made on The construction of The Bridge, and someone's to blame, Marino investigates.

I was starting to think that every single episode was going to be focused on the main Investigators taking on gang bosses and mafia, this third episode was entirely different, and for my money, this was the best yet.

I really liked the story, one of corrupt officials and politicians, who's penchant for backhanders and bribes resulted in the deaths and injuries of a group of people.

Some pretty decent use of model shots and stock footage, don't expect wonders, but with what they had, they did a decent job.

Very good watch.

8/10.

Warning: Spoilers
If the first two episodes were aimed at the mafia type organised crime groups.

The third episode of Target: The Corruptors goes after crooked politicians and their penchant for kickbacks. Ultimately the taxpayer foots the bills.

Using footage from a disaster movie. A tunnel collapses on top of a school bus. One of the injured student happens to be the son of a local newspaper editor.

Paul Marino was with him when the incident happened and the editor took aim at state senator Walter Cannon (Dan O'Herlihy.)

Only Marino knows that the editor took a kickback from Cannon, to go easy on him. One of a number of payments Cannon takes and pays.

It means construction projects are over budget, made below safety specifications with a series of underhand payments.

Cannon gets a patsy to take the blame for his latest project. An over keen newbie constructor who wants to crawl out of his father's shadow. He is not match for Cannon.

Marino finds that his investigator Jack Flood is brutally beaten up by a man called Sabol.

With an ending that indicated Cannon could live to fight another day despite being shot. Marino finds that Cannon might not be mightier than the power of the press.

It was queasy to see a badly beaten Jack Flood hospitalised but alive. It looked at one point that Cannon would get away with it. I liked how Dan O'Herlihy showed contempt for the well heeled well bred types.

Swindle syndicate

Warning: Spoilers
The story begins like a disaster movie, where a bus full of people, including children, is trapped in a tunnel after this latest collapsed. As you have already guessed this tale will emphasize on the reasons why such a tragedy happened. Our lead McNally will do his best to find out the genesis of all this. Big money, people's money from income taxes, destined for public projects - such as motorways and tunnels - was actually used on other unknown purposes...Swindle on a large scale. A disgusting swindle as it usually happens even now, in many countries. For once it's not here a gangland tale and I find it very interesting. it speaks of rotten executives, S.O.B politicians who only think of their own good, no matter the harm that may means for poor ordinary people. Those crooks will try to find a stool pigeon to get the blame for this tragedy. Fraud, corruption is pointed out there, another face of crime.
