Ron Ely does his usual fine job aided by an excellent guest cast. One guest is Jock Mahoney, a famous stuntman and actor who played Tarzan in earlier 1960's movies! Mahoney is 6'4", but Ely is even taller at 6'4" and 3/4"! Great exterior visuals, you know you aren't on some Hollywood sound stage! I am a big fan of beautiful Leslie Parrish, and she has a good role. We get to see Leslie in a safari-type suit! (She looks great in it). Now, in some ways, the Africa of the show feels more 1930's than 1960's; but I think they were trying for a timeless quality. So I would say, please cut the show some slack on how it presents indigenous African people, visually (faces painted, carrying spears and shields, etc.). Nancy Malone has a standout role. The actor playing the fanatical art collector is quite memorable. An enjoyable episode, refreshingly different from the vast majority of TV series, then and now. Ron Ely is very handsome and has a lot of quiet charm. I'm so glad this series is available on dvd, though it's expensive.
