Ida's dropping constant hints, her birthday is fast approaching and she's not leaving anything to chance. She tells Angie her biggest wish is a big strong man to carry her away. Robert commits to a Church event, on the same day as Ida's birthday, Ida agrees to attend, but refuses to be a wallflower with Miss Parfitt, so the hunt is on for a date. Better news for Ida, Wilfred turns up and offers to accompany her to the dance, but even he ditches her, after a batch of awful Birthday presents Robert has a big surprise for Ida.
Great turn from Deddie Davies in particular, she cut such a sad figure in the role, but managed to add such a sweet lightheartedness to her and make her fun.
A nice way to sign off the forth series, celebrations always make for good episodes. A little unoriginal in format I guess, but they get away with it, lighthearted and fun, 7/0
