Larry Makes This Episode Great
NirvanaWi27 April 2020
Overall, this is a pretty funny episode, although I would only rate it a 6 or 7, however, Larry's parts in this one bring my rating up to an 8. I won't give away the dialogue, but you have to watch this episode just to see Larry's interaction with the elderly lady, it's great.

Thank you Pluto TV

Thank you Pluto TV for providing a 24/7 Three's Company channel! I sitting here on a Saturday morning and on my 3rd episode in a row. I'm sure I have seen this episode a few times over the years yet I barely remembered it while watching. Thank goodness I didn't because each line was fresh and hilarious. Larry to the old lady, "your perfume is so sensuous, what is it?" The old lady, "it's Ben Gay". I will not disclose other funny moments (several all through out the show), I do not want this review to be considered a "spoiler". I will say, the actress that played the aunt and much older false love interest had to be a good sport playing this role. A lot of referencing to her appearance yet she was delightful (I usually try to be too cool to ever say that word) and perfect for the setting! I can't watch this channel all day, I have to do other things .....eh, let it wait, Three's Company is on next, and next, all day, all night, all week, and all year?

"A lovely name, Martha. It reminds one of vineyards."
Hey_Sweden3 March 2024
The Ropers are entertaining relatives in the Regal Beagle, Helens' cousin Barbara (the charming Claudette Nevins ("Sleeping with the Enemy")) and her mother Martha (Irene Tedrow, "Foul Play"). Soon, Jack has arrived, and met them, and he's utterly taken with Barbara, a sexy older woman who's also an accomplished archaeologist. Circumstances lead to Janet & Chrissy confusing the two women, and thinking that Jack is not only smitten with Martha, but that he intends to marry her!

Richard Kline as Larry completely steals the show, especially when Larry reluctantly agrees to "take one for the team" and seduce Martha away from Jack! Their awkward seduction scene is one of the most uproarious things you'll see on 'Three's Company', especially when Martha tells him what that fragrance is that he smells.

The plot, of course, is yet another in the extremely long line of circumstances where characters get the wrong impression, and over-react in hilarious ways.

Stanley has some good moments, although Norman Fell actually stops short of doing his "fourth wall breaking" shtick. Still, it is eventually Helen that gets the final laugh as this hysterical episode draws to a close.

Eight out of 10.
