Ghosts from his distance past
kapelusznik1824 January 2016
****SPOILERS**** Yuppie-like CEO of a major coffee & brewing company Sean Moore, Brian Austin Green,is about to be interviewed by the mysterious Elizabeth Carter,Moira Kelly, and spill the beans or coffee beans to the public about his amazing success in the world of business. Instead he's to be ambushed by his past a past that he's been trying hard to forget for the last 15 years.

It turns out that Sean first successful act was stealing his dad's cherished autographed 1927 world champion New York Yankee baseball and selling it to a sport dealer for $8,000.00 to start up his coffee empire! This broke his father Paul's, Alf Humphreys, heart as well as later killed him! Suspicious of reporter Carters' probing Sean calls her editor and is not only shocked to find out that she's not the person that's to interview him but was in fact killed in a car accident three days ago! The kicker is when Saen found his old high school jacket in his closet that he burned 15 years ago with a letter from his then girlfriend Bess Wicker,Vanessa Morley, who turned out to be the reporter who was interviewing him the late Elizabeth Carter telling him what a swell guy he was back then. That's until he stole his dad's cherished autographed baseball that lead to his having a fatal heart attack!

****SPOILERS***Trying to make up for his past Sean meets his what looks like bag-lady mom Jessica, Marilyn Norry, waiting for a bus to take her to the nearest welfare office and tries to return the baseball that he stole and sold from her husband to make up for what he did. Only to have her dump it in the nearest sewer together with any good feeling that she ever had for him. Seeing the wrongs he did and the people that he hurt Sean is now back in 1988 from the present of 2002 and given a second chance to even the score and not repeat the mistakes that he made that turned him into the greedy and unfeeling person that he was to become. And it's there in 1988 that his mom & dad as well as Bess are waiting to greet him.

"I guess some things never go away."

Warning: Spoilers
Seems to me a baseball autographed by the 1927 New York Yankees would have fetched more than eight thousand dollars, but let's not quibble. When it suddenly shows up in Sean Moore's (Brian Austin Green) office desk after selling it sixteen years prior, he's at a loss to explain it. Even more bewildering is how a high school jacket he burned effectively winds up in his closet! This is one of those second chance stories where given an opportunity to visit the past, Sean takes a different path by reuniting with the girlfriend who stuck by him and had a hand in helping him see the light. Not all Twilight Zones end up in a mishap for the main character, and this was one with a genuinely happy ending.

A reworking of "A Christas Carol"....but it clearly IS "A Christmas Carol"
planktonrules15 February 2022
Sean is a very rich and successful man. But to get there, he had to give up a lot...relationships, honesty and decency. He's now only concerned with money and power. But when a reporter arrives to do an interview, it's obvious she's NOT really a reporter but is there to reveal to him all he's lost as a result of his greed.

In many ways, Sean is Scrooge and the reporter is the Ghost of Christmas Past. Because of this, the episode seems cliched and predictable. It just lacked originality...and with such lackluster episodes, I can see why this rebooted series only lasted a season. Not terrible but it could have been better.

A Chance at Redemption
Hitchcoc9 July 2017
This has always been one of my favorite themes. A person sets course on life and gets there by causing pain to those who love him. Success here is counted out in an enormous bank account and untold riches. And yet, Sean, the main character, threw away his soul for it and embarked on a journey that gets him nowhere. He even has a regular call girl who is required to tell him she loves him. This is a broken man. Then, one day, someone comes along and gives him an opportunity to right the ship. Will he take it or return to the life he has made?
