Valerie visits a new hairdresser with disastrous results; Willie is blackmailed into being David's slave; Mark brings a lizard into the house as a pet.
On paper, this sounds like it's going to be a lame and silly episode, but everything clicks here. It's one of the funniest and is very well-written. It all kind of plays like a BRADY BUNCH episode updated for the Eighties but only featuring the boys.
The big reveal at the salon has Valerie looking like Aimee Mann from '80s band Til Tuesday; later at home she looks like Marilyn Monroe. It's fun when she makes her entrance wearing a scarf around her head. She looks frumpy though, not stylish like Rhoda.
Valerie gives David a Bradyesque speech in the bathroom about how David needs to realize Willie has him on a pedestal. There are some good character beats like when David stops to admire himself in the mirror. I saw the bathtub gag coming but it was still fun.
The tag scene when Michael comes home and sees the lizard in the bed is hilarious, because Val thinks he's commenting on her hair. The scene tops itself when Mark comes in and delivers a great punchline.
Goofy but well-written and one of the most entertaining of the season.
