This Wagon Train episode concerned John McIntire worried about the water supply for his train. Because of that he's waited long enough for three wagons and families who were supposed to meet the train. He sends Denny Miller back to find those wagons and take them across the desert to meet them at a rendezvous point.
Miller's to take them on a short cut, but that short cut is through one nasty desert and they're low on water anyway. And three different types are with the wagons, Arch Johnson whose a braggart and threatens mutiny, Parley Baer and wife Amzie Strickland who will not lighten his load one bit by disposing of his worldly goods. Finally there's Lin McCarthy who lost his family making this trip before and who's a drunk.
With this motley crew Miller has his hands full. But in the Wagon Train tradition he makes it though not totally intact with all his charges.
This episode features a nice ensemble cast who deliver some great performances about desperate people on the desert.
