A pretty infuriating episode
Grandpa, annoying as always, takes the cake with his tantrums in this episode. His son suggests to him a 75 year old with heart problems should not be doing strenuous labor all the time. Grandpa takes this as an offense to his very being and throws a fit at his son and refuses to work at all, even when his work becomes necessary to fullfill an order, I guess just to spite his son for caring about him, Later he badgers John-boy who his clearly doing work and doesn't take the hint until John-Boy markedly tells him to please could he leave him alone so he doesn't lose the scholarship which allows his impoverished family to send him to school. After these reasonable requests which demonstrate genuine cocnern for Grandpa he storms off from the house inconvening the family, taking Esther with of him who was more understandably annoyed at her grandchildrens' bratty behavior. Grandpa still spites everyone and refuses to go home and apologize for hcildlike behavior which was clearly his fault- John doesn't budge either but in this case he really didn't do anything. Grandpa is a big baby and should have been reprimanded and hit by Esther. However I'd still watch it because it's the Waltons and you get to here Ike being reprimanded by his wife for calling her "Honey Babe."
