Awesome Moulin episode
searchanddestroy-118 March 2024
Once more, MOULIN series provides us something powerful, solid, tense, despite some unlikely situations. But if you purchase surprises, something unusual and unpredictable, you have to accept unlikely things. The director here is José Pinhero, a French crime film and series director, rather professional in that domain; he directed some Alain Delon's movies such as NE REVEILLEZ PAS UN FLIC QUI DORT and PAROLE DE FLIC. Here, Moulin is the target of a molester whom he caught in the past and who seeks revenge against Moulin, after his relase from jail. Solid, gritty, riveting, fast paced, despite the expected result. For a MOULIN episode, that's pretty OK, but for an Olivier Marchal's stuff, it would not be. And what a good surprise to have a scene here, Square Bolivar in Paris 19ème, the very same place where the final scene of LE ROUGE EST MIS - Gilles Grangier 1957, starring Jean Gabin and Lino Ventura - was shot. Very unlikely but authentic, I know what I am talking about. It would have been the Eiffel Tower, of course I would not have told it.
