It's episodes like this that you wonder why Carrie is even with Doug by the way she treats him. A few episodes ago she pushed him down the stairs breaking his leg and here she has to work the weekend in Hartford and when Doug comes up to surprise her at the hotel, instead of being appreciative and enjoying the weekend together, she literally pushes him out of the hotel room without his shoes and telling him to go back home while lying that she has to work when she really just wants to go out dancing. What a selfish, heartless witch she is.
When Doug finds out about her deception, he's naturally upset and gets back at her by returning to the hotel room and ruining her dancing plans which served her right. Afterwards the two of them argue and bicker back and forth so much that you wonder why these two people just don't permanently go their separate ways.
Doug has his issues, but at least he's likable and is nice to other people, whereas Carrie treats everyone around her like crap and only cares about herself. She even talks down to her co workers who are with her at the weekend retreat. You just wonder why anyone bothers to even go near this woman when she always acts like such a nasty B.
The charity tree at the end of the episode provided some needed laughs when Doug decided to knock the tree over in an effort to give back the expensive charity leaves he picked off it, but the rest of the episode just makes you want to give Carrie a big slap across her overly made up face....or see HER get pushed down the stairs by Doug.
