Silent and stubborn
JordanThomasHall31 July 2020
Martin returns home wiped out after a tiring day at work. He rhetorically asks a chatty Patty, "don't you ever stop talking?" Ross adds that she couldn't keep her mouth shut if her life depended on it. Patty fires back that she could go without saying a word for 3 days. Martin quickly takes her up on the bet with the stakes being an extra two weeks allowance. Richard then pops in with "great news" that Patty has been named captain of the debating team. She gets in trouble in class for refusing to talk, being made to write "I will not be stuborn" 100 times on the blackboard. She has to do it over when her teacher Miss Blake (Frances Chaney) informs her that stubborn is spelled with two 'b's. Patty refuses to give up the bet, even though her debate meeting is at 3:30 and the bet over at 4:00. Meanwhile, Gloria is plotting a scheme to throw Patty off the team. Martin and Natalie plot their own scheme until realizing Patty must face her own problems.
