Sex & Nudity

  • The last episode of the second series has a segment about sex on television, with some heavy nudity.
  • A few episodes contain segments from programmes containing simulated explicit sexual acts.
  • Frequent strong sex references.
  • The 2006 Review of the Year has censored scenes of real sex during a passing moment on the programme "A Girl's Guide to 21st Century Sex". There is the odd shot of genitals, usually without sexual context.

Violence & Gore

  • A few episodes show scenes from television programmes contain some violence, however nothing particularly graphic.
  • Mild comic violence does occur in some episodes.


  • Almost all strong profanity from Brooker is censored (a notable exception is when he is talking about the Baby Mind Reader) but it is clear he is saying "fuck" and "cunt". All other swearing is uncensored.
  • Regardless of context, the word "cunt" is always censored.
  • Doug Stanhope's segment about reality television is the third series contains one use of the word "faggy".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • In one episode, a real picture of a man's arm after a circular saw cut off his arm is briefly shown. However, Charlie Brooker warns the viewer before it is shown.
