Chuck is one of those superachievers that has his name mentioned the most in the high school yearbook and wins the most awards at senior assembly the picture of perfection, the all American boy. However, in Chuck's case, he is an alcoholic who can no longer hide it. This was the era before security at high school was a serious matter and he is able to sneak booze into one of the classrooms actually hiding it in a desk. Finally Pete catches him drunk in the hall during a fire drill (the actor playing Chuck does a good Foster Brooks by the way. Also Jason does a great WC Fields impression with the line "Somebody put pineapple juice in my pineapple juice!") Chuck's parents seem to be the real problem downplaying his drinking (they also seem to be drinkers themselves). This episode deals with an issue that is always timeless but my only complaint with it is they wrap it up too quickly.

Chuck, a student working hard to get a scholarship secretly drinks alcohol at school.
A pretty good episode. James Carroll Jordan plays Chuck, he appeared in 1970s guest shots on shows like "The Partridge Family" and "The Rookies". Pete tries to help and mentions that he had an alcoholic uncle. The ending is a bit pat and abrupt.
