A festive special that sees Billy Ingleton (Norman Wisdom) return. Billy has obtained a van containing a small fairground organ that needs a bit of restoration. Nora, Ivy and Edie want him to use it for a charity fair to raise money.
Smiler is the ringmaster cracking the whip, Tom Simmonite is doing a ventriloquist act with Marina assisting. Howard is upset that his 'young lady' has gone off to showbiz. Meanwhile Barry wants to be alone as the lonely man off the hills as he thinks he will never get on the golf club as his boss does not like him.
The boys also reminiscence about the passing of Muscroft. Another character who has never been mentioned before, a feature of Last of the Summer Wine. You do wonder how Truly, Billy and Clegg all seem to have known him well though when Truly and Billy are relatively recent additions to the cast.
Still Norman Wisdom brightened up this episode even though it is another one of these 'let's put on a show' type of installment.
