Dick asks for a stoplight from the town council and is granted one. But when Shifflet asks for a raise, he is turned down because all the money went to the stoplight. Shifflet goes on strike and becomes depressed when so little happens in the town that requires a cop. Joanna talks Dick into hiring him. As a security guy, he becomes a terror to the guests, searching them and taking their pastries. At one point he opens a suitcase looking for towels and little bars of soap.
Of course, Dick ends up paying a price fir his actions. The scene at the end is pretty funny. Jim and Chester are great characters, constantly burrs in Dick's saddle.
