Exclusive: Documentary filmmaker Stevan Riley (Blue Blood, Fire In Babylon) got the chance of a lifetime when he was granted access to more than 200 hours of audio tapes Marlon Brando made during the course of his life, a personal archive of never-before-heard musings, acting studies, self-hypnosis and insights the enigmatic Oscar winner had hoped to turn into an autobiographical film before his death in 2004.
With the blessing of Brando’s estate and help from Searching For Sugar Man’s John Battsek (who produced alongside George Chignell and R.J. Jenny McCarthy, Donnie Wahlberg Engaged
McCarthy, 41, made the announcement and showed off her new ring on The View Wednesday morning. "I just got engaged," she gushed to her co-hosts, showing off her yellow sapphire ring before telling them how Wahlberg popped the question with the help of her 11-year-old son Evan.
"This weekend I was sitting with Donnie … and he went into the other room and out came Evan with a card that said 'Will' and he handed it to me," she said. "Then Evan ran away and Evan came in with a card that said 'You.' ... I just started crying and then Evan came back into the room with the word 'Marry' — but spelled wrong."

Fox’s cooking competition spin-off MasterChef Junior premiered Friday night to semi-decent ratings that were just grown-up enough to win 8 p.m..
The network’s latest Gordon Ramsay series had 4.2 million viewers and a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating. That just barely edged out the return of CBS’ Undercover Boss and ABC’s Sitcom Hour of the Damned to top the hour.
At 9 p.m., CBS brought back Hawaii Five-0 (9.4 million, 1.5) in its new rough-neighborhood time slot. The crime procedural was down 18 percent from last fall’s Monday premiere and got its lunch stolen by ABC’s Shark Tank. ABC’s sharks,...

I have been a lover and avid viewer of the WWE and pro wrestling in general since I was a child in the 80′s thanks to a wonderful little invention called Sky television, Australia’s first ever pay tv network (for lack of a better word). I grew up with the legends like Hulk Hogan, Macho Man and Andre the Giant and although I kinda of lost track in the mid 1990′s thanks to zero television coverage in Australia, once it hit our tv screens again circa 1998 I have not only caught up with but have kept track of all things WWE since. I even attempted my own career which unfortunately was cut short when they found my spine was quite naturally deformed (Freak) in which I needed spinal surgery and was not up to the rigours of “wrasslin”. The irony is I may not have found out about it...

Marc Blucas is headed to CBS.
The former Necessary Roughness star, who will appear on the ABC midseason drama Killer Women, will guest star on an early Blue Blood Season 4 episode.
According to The Huffington Post, Blucas will portray a movie star who rides along with Danny for a night in order to conduct research for a role.
But, as you might expect, all does not go as planned for the character, as a secret of his is exposed and he strikes a deal with Danny to help the detective track down a perpetrator.
Blue Bloods Season 4 kicks off on Friday, September 27 at 10/9c.

Los Angeles – Jack White already had two dates booked at La’s iconic venue The Wiltern for the end of May when he suddenly added a date at the Mayan Theater for April 30.
Hitting the stage in a jet black long-sleeve shirt and black jeans to match, White brought out a group of six females as his new backing band: a wild-looking drummer, a flapper-esque violinist, a stand-up bassist (who was pregnant), a Dutch slide guitarist, a ravishing backup singer who doubled as tambourine master, and finally a cute young woman on keyboards.
White wasted no time diving right into material from his brand-new debut solo effort, Blunderbuss, which is expected to take Billboard’s #1 spot when the charts are revealed tomorrow. Our first taste was the album’s opening track, “Missing Pieces,” which the crowd had clearly already memorized as they sang along to every word.

Blue Blood's came back after three week's with an exciting murder trial and an unexpected job offer. "Working Girls" put Erin in the spotlight and her reaction to it wasn't always pretty.
I had to chuckle when Erin tried to tell Boris that everything was going to be Ok. A cold blooded killer just told him that he knew where his children were. There was nothing Ok about that. I'm pretty sure any sane person would think twice about testifying.
Then everyone was telling poor Sophia that her family in Russia would be kept safe. They couldn't keep their witnesses here safe. Why should she believe they could protect her family half a world away?
I know Erin was trying to sound strong for the press in this Blue Bloods quote…

Musical Renaissance man Jack White has already had the honor of performing on “Saturday Night Live” but it wasn’t until last night that he performed his first full live solo set at the third birthday celebration for his self-owned label, Third Man Records (via Jam Canoe).
The multi-instrumentalist showcased 19 tracks spanning his career nicely, which included songs by The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather (never realized how much he likes “The” before his band names), as well as six new cuts off his forthcoming debut album Blunderbuss.
Keeping it low-key at his label’s headquarters in Nashville for the gig, White’s audience consisted of a couple hundred critics, music industry insiders, fellow bandmates and contest winners. In true White fashion, invites were found on cardboard volvelle wheels. The reception area for VIPs took place in the Third Man complex’s lounge, which...

Go behind the scenes of Fire in Babylon, "astory of emancipation through the sport of cricket," featuring the charismatic men on the ever-dominant West Indies cricket team. Now available On Demand via Tribeca Film. Who knew that a nation born of a slave history and fraught with disenfranchisement would produce the most successful sporting team in history? Such is the story of the West Indian cricket team, which since the mid-'60s has played the seemingly placid game with unparalleled endurance and courageous spirit. Arguably, these former European colonies transformed cricket from a sluggish recreational sport into an intensely physical game for those with great athletic skill. Oh my gosh, see this is why I say I don’t want to play too many more bad guys! [laughs] People do get that feeling, and then when they meet me its different. I have two little girls and I don’t want them to think daddy was the bad guy at the end of the day. [laughs]
Percy isn’t ruthless, he’s a complete sociopath!

It’s not often that you’ll find me watching a documentary on a subject that I know very little about. And it is even less likely that you’ll find me walking into a documentary about sports. But “Fire in Babylon” is so much more than a sports film, and you don’t have to know anything about cricket to understand this Tribeca Festival-offered documentary about how a West Indies Cricket Team adopted and subsequently dominated the sport created by a country they had only recently won their independence from.
“Fire in Babylon” mixes interviews with former cricketers and musicians, archival footage and photographs, and reggae music and examines how the struggle to be accepted into the Cricketing society is likened to the Civil Rights Movement of the Sixties. During a time of great civil unrest the small team from the Caribbean Islands watched...

Showtime President David Nevins has just greenlit his first pilot. Homeland, starring Claire Danes (Temple Grandin) and loosely based on Gideon Raff’s Israeli television series Prisoners of War, will be a new hour-long drama on the premium cable network. Homeland comes from executive producers Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa (24, X-Files) and will be directed by Michael Cuesta (Dexter, True Blood, Blue Blood). The series will begin production in January of 2011. Casting for the male lead of Sergeant Scott Brody has yet to be announced. “Claire is an amazing actress with an intense and varied body of work,” said Nevins in making the announcement. “We feel incredibly lucky to have drawn someone of her talent and accomplishment to what promises to be an extremely important project for us.” Homeland, which was written by Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa and Gideon Raff, centers on an American soldier taken prisoner during ...

EW scored this first look at this season’s Human Target, Fox’s comic-book-inspired drama that stars Mark Valley as a private investigator and security expert named Christopher Chance. Here, Valley appears with Indira Varma (Luther, Bones), a billionaire’s widow named Ilsa Pucci who ends up luring Chance out of semi-retirement to go back to chasing bad guys. The drama, which also stars Chi McBride and Jackie Earle Haley, returns to Fox Nov. 17.

The Week 2 declines continued on Friday, with every show sliding from its Premiere Week numbers. Tom Selleck's new series Blue Bloods at 10 Pm (2.0/7, 11.2 million) was once again the top program of the night by a mile in 18-49 and total viewers, down modest 9% from last week. Also posting a respectable 9% decline was the other freshman series in the 10 Pm slot, NBC's Outlaw (1.0/4, 4.7 million). Unfortunately, the legal drama starring Jimmy Smits started off very low last week and still drew only half of the demo rating and less than half of the audience of Blue Blood last night. Outlaw finished tied for second place in the 10 Pm hour with ABC's 20/20 (1.0/4, 4.5 million, down 23% from last week) CBS' other two Friday dramas, Medium (1.1/4, 5.6 million) and CSI:ny (1.7/6, 9.7 million) were down 14% and 15%, respectively. They still won their time slots in both measures, another sign how low the high water mark on Friday has fallen.

A day ahead of its official upfront presentation, CBS announced that it had canceled seven series, including The New Adventures of Old Christine, Ghost Whisperer, Cold Case, Miami Medical, NUMB3RS, Gary Unmarried and Accidentally on Purpose and had issued reprieves for Medium and Rules of Engagement. CBS is expected to announce orders for new dramas Hawaii Five-o, Defenders, and Blue Blood, comedies Bleep My Dad Says and Mike & Molly, and the untitled Criminal Minds spinoff. It's still possible that the Warner Bros. Television-produced Old Christine could turn up on ABC as Steve McPherson has previously indicated his desire to acquire the Julia Louis-Dreyfus-led comedy should CBS opt not to renew it... and the same fate could hold true for supernatural drama Ghost Whisperer, which could be saved by ABC as well. Charlie Sheen, meanwhile, has successfully concluded a contract renegotiation that will see him return to CBS'...

You’ve received a good response from past gigs in India. What did you think of the musical sensibilities of the Indian audience? The energy I got from the crowd in India was right up there with the best shows I’ve ever had. You guys really know how to enjoy yourselves and rock like there is no tomorrow! Live music is not an exam — it’s time to let go! Have you had a chance to sample Indian music — Bollywood, rock, or other genres? Yeah! I had the pleasure to meet a lot of Indian bands such as Silver and Blue Blood. ...

After watching the third episode of the HBO series True Blood, I've come to the conclusion that Ryan Kwanten's body deserves special consideration at next year's Emmy awards, and that Alan Ball has presented us with one of the most vampire-batcrap insane hours ever seen on TV.
We start off where we left last week, with Sookie paying a visit to her bloodsucking paramour,??Bill, only to be confronted at his door by the Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living, And Became Effed Up Vampires.
There are three of them, sort of a Mod Squad: Vampire Edition (one white, one black ...one bald). There's Diane, who wears a gold lame dress and a wig stolen from Chaka Khan circa Through The Fire, Malcolm, whose head keeps distracting me (he looks like he overdosed on Ronco's Spray-On Hair??... seriously, I kept expecting Ron Popeil to come on screen to give...

LONDON -- Nascent music and DVD label Warner Music Entertainment stepped into the crowded U.K. theatrical distribution ring Thursday, announcing plans to roll out the boxing documentary Blue Blood in theaters.
WME is the newly launched video content division created through Warner Music's recent acquisition of the Rights Co. and the merger of Warner Vision and Warner Music International's existing DVD distribution unit.
The newly formed unit is making its first theatrical outing with Blood, which revolves around five Oxford students who join the amateur boxing club and train with their blue-collar coach to fight Cambridge University in the annual Oxford vs. Cambridge varsity boxing match.
The gloves will come off the movie in May this year in major cities across the U.K., including the capital and the two university towns. A DVD release is planned for later this year.
The documentary was made by Sylabik Films in association with Delirio Films and was written and directed by Stevan Riley.
