Sex & Nudity

  • A pair of Godinotia are seen mating. As this is a nature doocumentary, there's nothing sexual in the scene.

Violence & Gore

  • A herd of Giant Ants (Titanomyrma) marches through the forest, finding a Gastonis (a big no-flying bird) chick, just to start eating it alive. The ants get on all over it's body.
  • A Gastornis attacks a group of Propalaeotherium (primitive cat-sized horses), killing one of them. We can see the bird shaking the horse, till it is dead, and proceeds to eat it. Flesh and blood is visible.
  • The Gastornis chick remains are graphically seen on-screen. A gory skeleton is left behind by the ants. There's no piece of meat or even guts remaining.
  • A creodont (a little carnivorous mammal like-dog) is catched by a Ambulocetus (a primitive walking whale), who drags it underwater and holds the struggling creodont, until it drowns on-screen.
  • A limnic eruption burst outs from the bottom of a lake, releasing a huge CO2 cloud, that expands and suffocates the animals. At the next morning, we can see the bodies, lying in the ground.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Before the Gastornis strikes 'em, the Propalaeotherium are described eating fermented grapes at the forest floor, that contain little alcohol amounts that dull their senses, literally, drunking them.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There are a lot of frightening scenes through all of the series.
  • The scene with the Ants and the Gastornis Chick is very disturbing.
  • There are a lot of tiems where the Leptictidium are almost catched or killed. This may scare or worry younger viewers.
  • The Gastornis killing a Propalaeotherium and the poisonous gas clouds are the most intense scenes in the episode.
