Fair....but I can't help to think it should have been better.

This is one of the few disappointing episodes I've seen from the brilliant TV show "The American Experience". Usually, the shows are of the highest quality but somehow I didn't feel all that bowled over by "The Story of the Underground Railroad". I think this is for two main reasons. First, it was a HUGE topic and could have easily filled 3-4 hours of time--yet only came it at about 60 minutes. It simply went too fast and glossed over too much. Second, it really didn't even get to talking about the Underground Railroad until about halfway through the show!! So many wonderful stories are left out--making it all seem a bit sketchy and incomplete. Is it still worth seeing? Sure...as an introduction. But if you want a more thorough discussion of slavery and the abolitionists' attempts to secret escaped slaves to freedom, then there probably are better films out there. If you know of one, let me know--I'll try to see it and then update this review. Thanks.
