F1 presenter Suzi Perry has said that turning down the opportunity to present Top Gear was a "bad decision".
Perry, who is the first permanent female presenter of F1 on British TV, spoke to producers about joining hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Jason Dawe and Richard Hammond before the show's relaunch in 2002.
However, she insisted that she has no regrets about the way her career has unfolded.
Asked by The Daily Telegraph about her worst business decision, she said: "Years ago, when TV was about to bring Top Gear back and rebrand it with Jeremy, James [May] and Richard, I sat down and talked to Andy Wilman, the series producer, about joining them.
"I remember thinking, 'I might be out of my depth and it might not be a good idea', instead of grabbing the opportunity.
"Looking back, I may have made a large error, but it's not like I didn't work for the next 15 years.

When one considers the success of Jj Abrams Star Trek remoulding - both at the box office and in public opinion - it would be fair to suggest that Digital Extremes had a lot to live up to with the development of the new Star Trek game. There's always that underlying feeling that said game is nothing more than a money spinner, one with little to no concern as to what makes a great videogame so long as it's financially viable.

The Gadget Show presenter Suzi Perry has criticised the technology industry's tendency to view women as a separate market, highlighting that Apple became so successful by making stylish products that are coveted by both sexes. Like it or not, the technology and gadget industries are still largely dominated by men - just attend any press conference for a new tech product and it is likely that the room will be split at least 60% to 40% in favour of the males. However, technology products have moved beyond just the early adopters and are now in the pockets of the masses, meaning consumers of technology are as likely to be women as men. This has led many manufacturers of smartphones, tablets, radios and other consumer electronics products to take a stab at serving female consumers with products directly aimed at them.
