The story itself is quite strong

A two-reel story of a fishing village off Mexico, with warfare between Japs and Americans as the theme. Tsuri Aoki and other Japanese performers appear. The story begins with Tom, an American artist, painting pictures of the Jap girl. Some striking coast scenes are here pictured. Later Tom, who is also an American spy, learns that a ship loaded with ammunition is coming. He leads an expedition to blow up the Japanese mission. The girl goes to his tent to warn him of danger and is shot through the canvas by her own people unwittingly. The action in this number is very good and the story itself is quite strong. The photography is good. - The Moving Picture World, November 28, 1914
