There's a lot of tension as Julia and Barnabas await as Willy is under sedation, desperately curious of what he might say. Once again, Barnabas makes a deadly proclamation that Willie Loomis must die, and of course every time he says that, nobody does. Only Jason McGuire so far has fallen prey to Barnabas outside of some cows and a few unseen females, so obviously Barnabas's bite is not as bad as his bark. Julia is threatened by Barnabas with the ending of her career should Willy speak out so she has prayed that he died while in a coma. But when Willie comes out, he does have a shocking proclamation and it's not what's up characters involved in the episode were hoping to hear.
The sudden recasting of the sheriff in the previous episode is suddenly undone by the return of Dana Elcar, bizarre because the episode starts where the previous episode ended. File Barnabas is relieved where the plot goes, he needs to find out more so he sticks around who talked with Willie alone and makes a claim about himself that even Willy doesn't realize is a lie. Where this leaves Willie as far as his future is concerned being framed for Barnabas's crimes is unclear, but it's obvious that as long as Willy lives, he will continue to be a threat to Barnabas just as Maggie and David are.
