A well-scripted episode depicting the conflicting diagnoses of various doctors. Director Moira Armstrong keeps a tight focus especially in the exploratory operation on the young Corporal at risk of losing his leg, with a montage of close-ups of Finlay, Edinburgh specialist Sir William Duffy and the army surgeon. The opening section of the surviving recording is somewhat blurry but does not detract from the hold of this episode. PSM.
