The phenomena of the supposed human aura that envelops not just people, but all living things is examined here. One scientist claimed to have invented a device that enabled anyone to see an aura, and later a pair of goggles, but host Leonard Nimoy stated that he saw nothing unusual when he wore them. The scientist died without any heirs to carry it on, so the study is rather spotty, but some other scientists have tried to pick up his work, with mixed results. Though this subject is most inconclusive, it is true that some people do seem to shine more than others, and that anger or agitation can make an aura pulsate and glow noticeably. Interesting attempt to understand this concept.

In Search Of... "The Human Aura" (1982)

This episode from season six is part science and part religion as the human aura is looked at. The episode starts off talking about a gold "glow" that surrounds certain people and then we hear a brief story of Christ. From here we get to current science and how some are trying to photograph this aura. Overall there's certainly nothing ground- breaking about this episode but it is mildly interesting in its own way. The best thing about it are the interviews with the scientists who are trying to explain why if we can know there's an aura it could lead to breakthroughs in medicine.

started out strong but...

Warning: Spoilers
The Human Aura started out strong but then turned blah. The final stretch of the In Search of series was running out of material. Human Aura went into the parable about Jesus and the woman who touched Jesus's robe. Saints and the religious glow where mentioned. Doctors who see glows, magnetic fields and people give of fields of energy gave insight into theories. Experiments, interviews, and research where breached. The Human Aura devolved into ideas, which are on the fringe and little hard to believe. Could be something there. Had potential! The ending just died. 5 out of 10 stars.
