Stylish episode centers on the historical and literature based facts surrounding the history of the fabled Tower of London, where many people(some famous and royals alike) were imprisoned before their inevitable execution. Specifically, the focus is on King Richard the Third, who attained the throne after the mysterious disappearances of two young princes in line of succession ahead of him. They were believed murdered, but no bodies were found(until two centuries later, and their identities were unconfirmed) Still, both some historians and playwright William Shakespeare made him out to be a hunchbacked villain, which his supporters vehemently deny. The truth may never be known...

Historical episode. The Tower of London Murders is an educational episode. The viewer learns the history of the Tower of London. Started out in Roman times and used as a fortress for the Royal Jewels, political prisoners, executions, and royals. Some Royals where killed at the tower during royal power struggle, which the episodes focus on with did Richard the 3 kill his two nephews (princes) to become king? There is the pro and con arguments. Two children bodies years later where found and speculation of the missing princes is investigated. Interesting episode. Great narration, but dry historical experts. Education, but not dry! 6 out of 10 stars.

In Search Of... "The Tower of London Murders" (1981)
Sons of Edward the Fourth were thrown into the infamous prison towers where they died but how and by whose hand is still a mystery. The episode then takes a look at the reign of Richard III and asks if he was the murderer or just a pawn accused of various crimes. This here is another very good episode for the series, although I'm sure some might wish that the mystery of the kids were the main focus. The real focus here is that of Richard III but I thought the episode did a very good job at telling his story and asking how much we know about him is the truth or just a myth.
