Hollyoaks
When it comes to gay characters, I don’t think any show handles them as nicely as Hollyoaks does. Not only do they tend to be well written and well drawn, they are fully integrated into the show – not simply side characters brought out to support other people’s stories. In fact, in the last couple of years, as in the case with Brendan and Ste and the recently departed Jason, they carry the bulk of the story load. This means that Hollyoaks can have more than one gay character and have each of them in their own story with their own relationships and romances. And this past week was a fine example of that.
As with most stories surrounding Brendan, I’m loving the new plot arc designed to delve into his character and find out what makes him tick. While I have a...

Forbidden Love
I think it’s time to put Christian and Olli to rest. Let them get a divorce and be apart, at least for awhile. The characters have come to the point where they need to move in separate orbits, meet new people, perhaps have a new romance or two. Perhaps at some point down the line they can rekindle their relationship. They have been fighting about the same thing for months and the back and forth has gotten boring. Perhaps looking at why their marriage fell apart in less than a year might be a good idea.
If the show tries to force them back together anytime in the near future, it would not only be unbelievable, but would seem like the writers just threw them back together for lack of anything else to do with the couple. So much of this story has been about lazy,...

TV3 series 'The Guards' is currently in post-production in London's Four Corners. The series, made by Legend United productions in association with October Eleven Pictures has seen its director, Graham Cantwell (Anton) distance himself from the project citing his unhappiness "with how it was being steered" as his reason for leaving. Ambitious and ruthless, the threesome will do anything to get the job done and secure a conviction. The series is being produced by Jonathan Figgis (3 Crosses) and was written and executive produced by Steven Aldridge (Soul Traces, Bedlam) for Legend United productions in association with October Eleven Pictures.
