The first match is Chris Jericho versus Bobby Eaton. Tony Schiavone interviews Chris Jericho after the match. Dean Malenko takes on Jimmy Graffiti (Jimmy Del Ray). Diamond Dallas Page faces Sgt. Craig Pittman. Tony Schiavone interviews Nick Patrick after the match. Jeff Jarrett takes on Ron Studd. Tony Schiavone interviews Jeff Jarrett and Ric Flair after the match. Lex Luger faces Road Block. Harlem Heat takes on the American Males. The Faces of Fear face the Fantastics. NWO Sting takes on Mr. JL. The show ends with Eric Bischoff showing Randy Savage footage of Hulk Hogan and Miss Elizabeth on the set of 3 Ninjas Part 3. Good angle to close the show.

Weak melodrama.

Warning: Spoilers
Hour one.

Live from Mankato, Minnesota

Your hosts are Tony Schiavone & Larry Zbyszko

Chris Jericho Vs Bobby Eaton

Jericho wins with a missile dropkick from the top. This was an average match to start the show. Eaton moved very slowly and had trouble keeping up with Jericho. That being said, he still did OK.

**

Jericho says he's gonna beat Syxx at Halloween Havoc, and hand the nWo their first loss.

Next, is a sweet video package of Rey Mysterio.

Jimmy Graffiti Vs Dean Malenko

Graffiti is Jimmy Del Ray dressed up like a 12-year-old skateboarder. Malenko wins by submission with the Texas Cloverleaf. This match wasn't too shabby at all. Despite Del Ray's silly gimmick, you can't take away his wrestling ability. He was game here.

**1/2

Diamond Dallas Paige Vs Sgt. Craig Pittman (W/Teddy Long)

Pittman has the match won by submission, but Teddy Long inexplicably jumps on the apron. DDP takes advantage and hits Pittman with the Diamond Cutter to get the win. Paige was booked really weak in this match. A win is a win, but he didn't look all that good in victory.

*

Tony Schiavone and Nick Patrick have a segment. Basically, Schiavone accuses Nick Patrick of being the referee for the nWo.

Ric Flair and Jeff Jarrett have a "strut off" It leads to Ric Flair and Jarrett shaking hands. This was slightly amusing.

Jeff Jarrett Vs "Big" Ron Studd

Jarrett makes the big guy tap out with the Figure Four. This was to give Jarrett some momentum going into his match with The Giant at Halloween Havoc, and make you think Jarrett could beat The Giant.

3/4*

Jeff Jarrett says it's time for WCW to become the hunters instead of the Hunted. He guarantees The Giant won't chokeslam him. Ric Flair says that sometimes you become so good at what you do in life, you begin to take it for granted. He gives the nWo credit for outsmarting him and playing the game dirtier. He says he's gonna be in Jarrett's corner at Halloween Havoc. The Giant is showing watching in the stands.

Hour two.

Your hosts are Eric Bischoff, Bobby Heenan & Mike Tenay

Lex Luger Vs Roadblock

Luger wins with the Torture Rack. In a funny moment, Luger tried to apply The Torture Rack to Roadblock two times, and he couldn't quite do it. Roadblock is some overweight wrestler.

½*

Harlem Heat (W/Sister Sherri & Col. Parker) Vs The American Males (Buff Bagwell & Scotty Riggs)

Harlem Heat wins. These two have faced each other many times on Nitro. It felt stale to me. Bagwell would turn heel shortly after this.

*1/2

The Faces of Fear (Meng & The Barbarian) (W/Jimmy Hart) Vs The Fantastics

The Faces of Fear win. This match was a bit all over the place and hard to keep track of. The Fantastics were a prominent team in the late 80's in the NWA.

*1/4

nWo Sting Vs JL.

JL is Jerry Lynn under a mask. The real Sting comes down in black and white colors, and destroys the fake Sting. The nWo comes into the ring. They try to persuade Sting to join the nWo. Sting says he may or may not be in the nWo's price range. He says when it comes to him, nothing is for sure. He walks away after that.

Thoughts: This was some solid drama and left you wondering if Sting was gonna join the nWo.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage Vs Chris Beniot

Savage comes out in street clothes. Eric Bischoff shows footage of Hulk Hogan filming a movie. The nWo takes over the whole set while Hogan harasses Elizabeth. Savage says friendships, relationships, and marriages are fragile. He says life is fragile as well before walking to the back as Nitro goes off the air.

Thoughts: Savage was properly sullen and subdued in this segment. It's too bad the segment was pretty meh.

Not a very good episode of Nitro. it was a very low-key show going into Halloween Havoc.

4.5/10 overall.
