Really funny finale to series 3
Sleepin_Dragon28 August 2015
It's the annual outing for the ladies of Paradise Lodge, all are in their summer gear. Dolly is suitably overdressed and Cissie is wearing her rain coat. Flora continues to rage war against Gladys Smallwick, she's pinched Flora's seat. Cissie is counting white cars and rowing boats to keep her quiet on the journey, but when that fails the singing starts. The ladies arrive in Scarborough and play cricket on the beach. Cissie's forgotten to relay a message from the driver, that he's locked the coach and disappeared for a few hours, so Cissie and Flora try to break in, but are caught by the Police and arrested.

It's great to see the ladies in a different setting the beach scenes work so well, this episode boasts some really great dialogue, there are some super one liners. The scenes with the Policeman are truly funny, they deliver the lines brilliantly. It's a great series finale. 8/10

The Outing

The golden girls of of Paradise Lodge are out on their annual outing. They are heading to the seaside to Scarborough, where Flora went honeymooning with Mr Petty.

When they arrive Flora and the ladies play cricket on the beach but Flora is a sour loser. However Cissie forgets to pass an important message from the coach driver. When it comes time for lunch and to take out the food hamper from the coach, the driver is nowhere to be seen.

Flora takes it upon herself to try to break into the coach resulting in both Flora and Cissie getting arrested.

It is quaint to see all that blue screen for a lot of the deck chair scenes on the beach which was mixed with actual seaside footage.

Glynn Edwards better known as Dave from The Winchester Club in Minder plays the frustrated desk sergeant.
