The second series of Selwyn Froggitt. What has Maurice done to his hair, it's gone a bit sandy or it could be a syrup. Also once again I keep pondering why does Maurice have a scouse accent!

As for this episode it seems Bill Maynard is struggling with his lines. At one point I thought he was looking at cue cards.

At least the episode is funny. Barman Ray convinces a stranger with an Irish accent, curly hair, the name of Andrews and a big red book has come looking for Selwyn.

Selwyn is convinced it is Eamonn Andrews and that he will be appearing in This is your Life. The other three members of the committee go along with the gag in a cruel fashion.

Later Selwyn sees a letter from Radio North. They plan to broadcast a sports quiz from local clubs. Selwyn needs to assemble a team but all his questions for the quiz come from an ancient sports book that dates back to the 1920s.

Selwyn has the idea that Eamonn Andrews will surprise him on the sports quiz night. He hopes his Uncle Albert will be flown over from New Zealand. He owes Selwyn half a crown.

Poor Selwyn, he was totally deluded in this one. A strong start for the second series. The title is a riff of a BBC social drama series broadcast in the mid 1970s and directed by Ken Loach.
