Young Luke Halpin late of the Flipper series plays a wounded young outlaw who's injuries are slowing down the getaway of his three other confederates, one of them being the legendary Curly Bill Brocius who later became a member of the Clanton gang. Curly Bill is played by Robert Yuro.
A young army lieutenant played by Sam Melville stumbles into the outlaw camp on the way to his assigned post. He gets out of his own demise by offering to take Halpin to the post where the army doctors patch him up and after three months he's sent on his way.
Halpin rejoins Yuro, Hal Baylor, and John Pickard. In the end he gets a chance to repay a debt.
If you've seen Curly Bill played in such westerns as Frontier Marshal and Hour Of The Gun he's usually someone without too many redeeming features. This Death Valley Days feature offers a different look at the man.
The cast does a good professional job in this interesting vignette of the old west.
