Corruption in the company

Warning: Spoilers
Another Patsy Rowlands free episode.

Rex is looking forward to going to Scotland where a company conference is due to take place. Then comes the bombshell - it has been cancelled by 'Northwood-Black ( the late Benjamin Whitrow ). Rex is livid. Then he and Harry and Burke discover that the Casanova Hotel company has been renting colour television sets at black and white rates, and Northwood-Black has been profiting from this 'error'. The question is - what to do about it? The best way seems to be - find a shareholder and use him to bring up the matter at the next shareholder meeting. As luck would have it, Burke owns a share ( given to him as a birthday present by his mother ).

Alan Hackney's last script for the series, and, like his others, had the potential to be a lot better. The resolution to the story is depressing - Rex is told he can go to Scotland after all and so he decides not expose the scam. Benjamin Whitrow, a fine actor, does not get an awful lot to do here. Pity.

Funniest moment - Rex turning up for work dressed as Sir Harry Lauder.
