Mediocre early Playgirl compilation
lor_29 December 2016
This DVD from Playgirl is so old it predates their matching the talent to the episodes, so I was left with some guesswork -homework for intrepid IMDb users who (like me) love to play the game of identifying players by sight.

The seven episodes (directors uncredited as well) have a lot of soft- focus and a rather timid approach to portraying XXX scenes, so much of the action is shown from soft-core angles. That makes it way out of date for today's "gimme more!" gonzo-oriented audience.

Probably the best vignette is #8, designated as the Bonus Scene in Playgirl's odd structuring -why a scene is randomly pulled out of the main feature, which is itself always merely a compilation of stand-alone scenes, is beyond me. It's titled "French Composer", with Jean Val Jean appropriately cast, humping beautiful & buxom Eva Angelina on his piano bench. She wears her trademark glasses during sex.

Eva is back without the spectacles in a strange vignette titled "Priest" starring long-haired Niko, in which the man of the cloth removes that cloth and humps Angelina surrounded by candles. This segment provides a very sexy cover shot for the DVD in which Eva's face (and even breasts) are obscured, as part of the marketing strategy of Playgirl (released on DVD through Wicked Pictures) where the male is suddenly preeminent.

Val Jean also stars in the opening segment with Harmony, titled "Private Dancer", and he's the Chippendales -styled stripper who she gives money too in the form of tips on-stage before humping commences.

Most ambitious segment is "Prisoner of Fantasy", a nightmarish piece loaded with style, in which Aurora Snow is introduced in bed in cocooning mode, wrapped in gauze, later to unwrap and have sex with a goateed young James Deen. The surreal visuals and unusual editing make this a love it or hate it vignette.

Sexiest content is "The Wet Elevator", a Euro Porn import in which the protagonists are covered with flowing water for much of the time, well played by Continental stars Mandy Bright and Frank Gun.

Low-brow filler has Mario Rossi with Kelly Kline featured in "Fondling His Poolstick", set at a billiards table. For some unknown reason, Playgirl reissued this segment in 2010 on its "Let's Get Physical" release, pretending that shooting pool was either a sport or exercise rather than a game of skill (to say the sex is "physical" is absurd thematically, though anything goes for these randomly named compilations).

Derrick Pierce and Rita Faltoyano are advertised equal-time on the DVD box, but only show up in a short BTS bonus, chatting about their careers. Silliest content of all is the inevitable gay-baiting Solo Scene, as it takes Ramon (not Ramon Nomar but some other guy) all of 26 minutes to pose for the camera and then jerk off - more than double the running time of these ridiculous segments. Of course, Playgirl the magazine/website has morphed more recently into all-male content, of which these Solos were the early warning.
