Batman has some of the biggest iconography in all of superherodom. He has the cowl, the cave, the utility belt, and the car. He is arguably the only comic book character whose props and vehicles are as known as the actual character. This is especially true of the Batmobile, the only superhero non-sentient object to get its own spin-off show.
The Batmobile has been a part of every single Batman adaptation, from the Adam West show, to each of the film reinterpretations — which took influences from different eras of the comics. And yet, it feels like every time we get a new one, it is one of the biggest challenges for the design team and the crew (just ask Matt Reeves' crew on "The Batman"). But when it came time for Christopher Nolan to reinterpret the Batman mythos, his choice almost deprived us of a new Batmobile.

Christopher Nolan is known for shooting as much in-camera as he can. In a behind-the-scenes documentary, Zack Snyder praised the director's Dark Knight trilogy and its practical approach, saying, "It's a craft, it needs craftsman to do it. There's a tactile feeling about the movies, that's really palpable, you feel it when you watch them."
No more is that obvious than with the first entry in the trilogy, "Batman Begins." In general, "The Dark Knight" is thought of as the best of Nolan's three Batman movies, helped immensely by Heath Ledger's incredible performance as The Joker. But for me, "Batman Begins" is the standout. Nolan has spoken about how each of his Dark Knight movies has a genre, the first being a "hero's journey," the second being a "crime" film, and the third being a "war" epic. But whereas "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises" felt...

She's still managed by Joanne Colonna at Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Elizabeth Banks jumps onboard for the Paul Haggis feature The Next Three Days starring alongside Russell Crowe. Centering around a wife who’s suddenly imprisoned for murder, Crowe will be the husband who tries to go and get his other half out of the slammer. The Haggis and Fred Cavayé written pic is actually a film adaptation, believe it or not. Based off of the Cavayé written and directed French film Pour Elle, this Americanized version is set for a Tba 2010 release.
Producing along with Haggis is Olivier Delbosc, Marc Missonnier who both took part in producing Cayavé’s Pour Elle. Michael Nozik joins the trio, previous producing/executive producing work being The Narrows and Syriana. The film is under Haggis’ company Hwy 61 and also includes Fidélité Films (do I even have to explain the connection here) and Lionsgate for the theatrical distribution.

Ayoung photography student tries to es cape his mobbed-up Bay Ridge surroundings in the sub-Scorsese melodrama "The Narrows." Kevin Zegers plays the shutterbug who, to pay for his classes, gets caught up in a scheme delivering mysterious packages for a local gang.
Another student (Sophia Bush, who always seems to be dressed to attend a wedding, even in class) becomes his girlfriend because she likes tough guys, but with his long bangs and soft features, Zegers looks more "Gossip Girl" than "Goodfellas." Vincent D'Onofrio, as his brusque father, lurches around...

There are stars, there are superstars, and then there are gods of the American mainstream consciousness. And among those gods are the big three, the icons of pop culture. You know who I mean. The trio that defined all that was hip for the second half of the twentieth century. I'm referring of course to Andy Warhol, Bruce Lee, and Don Knotts. And on June 19th of this year, when the motion picture The Narrows, based on my novel, Heart of the Old Country, opens at The Pavilion in Brooklyn, I will become a small footnote in their pantheon. The Narrows tells the story of a photography student (played by Kevin Zegers) from a tough neighborhood in Brooklyn who takes a job from the local mob boss in order to pay his college tuition. His double life becomes dangerous when...

Cinedigm Digital Cinema will host what it's billing as the first-ever live virtual Q&A between a film cast and theater audiences nationwide as a part of the June 19 opening-night of the feature film "The Narrows."
Francois Velle's film, which premired at last year's Toronto International Film Festival, stars Kevin Zegers, Vincent D'Onofrio and Sophia Bush, who will participate in the Q&A from New York, where they will answer in real-time audience questions submitted via text message as well as questions submitted prior to the event via Facebook.
The live Q&A will be simulcast to selected theaters across the country via satellite transmission using Cinedigm's proprietary CineLive technology, which was used for Bcs Championship and NBA All Star games earlier this year. Approximately 6,000 theaters nationwide have upgraded their systems from traditional film print to digital projection and broadcast, about 70% of which are managed by Cinedigm.
