Without the evolution of DNA evidence it is doubtful if these multiple rapes would ever have been solved
Ed-Shullivan15 April 2019
Roy Charles Waller the Northern California (NorCal) serial rapist should not be confused with the more infamous serial killer/serial rapist Joseph James DeAngelo, the Golden State Killer who was arrested several months earlier in 2018. Both men alluded arrest for decades but both men were eventually identified, arrested, and charged with their heinous crimes by the use of the family genealogy site GEDmatch, through the DNA they both left behind at some of their multiple crime scenes decades earlier, before DNA was a scientific approach to crime solving.

In this episode of the NorCal serial rapist Roy Charles Waller was identified as a suspect in a series of more than ten rapes between 1991-2006 in Northern California. We hear the testimony of some of the survivors and how they have lived in fear of falling asleep in their own beds in case their rapist were to return again. Now, as Roy Charles Waller is brought into court behind a cage, he is now seen in real time face to face with some of his victims who are now some 25 years older, and they are prepared to testify against him. Waller was arrested Thursday in the city of Berkeley, where he worked at the University of California's environment, health and safety office as a "safety specialist'. Waller was eventually charged with a total of 40 counts of rape which took place in different counties in California. The ladies describe their own fear to this day of facing their rapist Roy Charles Waller, but are prepared to proceed to ensure he never sees the light of day.

Waller looks like anyone's own brother, father, neighbor and/or friend, but his reign of rape and terror are now over and this episode does an excellent job of outlining his crimes, his modus operandi, and his arrest and charges laid. His conviction is forthcoming no doubt with his DNA evidence being his eventual downfall some three (3) decades later.
