DON'T Cancel It
aimeemccarthy13 June 2020
This is basically a deconstruction of game shows. Sure it has kinks it needs to iron out (half the time I can't hear Ryan's voice over, and sometimes his comments are either too pinpointed or they miss an opportunity to call out a situation), but I see what this show is trying to do and I love it. I think now more than ever we need a show that is really sarcastic and is just on the air to mess around. I happen to love sarcasm, so this show kinda cheers me up. Could it be better? Absolutely. But I say give it a chance to grow, and this will probably be the funniest, most irreverent game show we ever had.

Authenticity Questionable

Warning: Spoilers
When I watched the first episode, I was really excited. One guy had to eat, one at a time, some hot peppers without drinking anything for relief, working his way up to the ghost pepper. In the first episode, the guy's face was red, his eyes were watering and he was coughing. I was convinced! Then I saw the second episode, in which they used the same challenge. This time, the guy went through, without water or milk, and ate each of the extremely hot peppers ending up with something equivalent to the devil's pepper, which Adam could not even touch because it was too hot. Still, the guy's face remained unchanged. He didn't even break a sweat. So I'm asking if this game show is rigged. Watch it and see if you think any human can eat these peppers, one after the other, raw, and not even break a sweat!

Like most gameshows these days it's a whole lot of yackidy yack and commercials with a bit of game show to go with it.

I see potential
elzorrodorito17 June 2020
I'm a big fan of Adam Scott through his various movie/TV/podcast appearances and he's genuinely such a funny person. I just found out about this because he plugged it in an episode of HDTGM and when it showed up on my Hulu feed I had to give it a try. There's definitely room for improvement. Some people mentioned that Ryan Reynolds' jokes were falling flat but I found them amusing. I will agree with others that the stakes feel low, that the challenges don't seem very challenging. I get the sense that it won't be too hard to contestants to walk out with the max prize money every week.

That said, I hope that things can be tightened up and that this show will get a chance and can find an audience.

Cringeworthy
Zerbey25 June 2020
The host has no personality, and Ryan Reynold's attempts at voiceover humour fall flat. The contestants seem to spend half the time being coaxed to sound cheerful by the producers. This was done decades ago and with far better results, go watch reruns of Double Dare if curious.

AMAZING AND HILARIOUS! Best New Gameshow!
bbouskila16 June 2020
Honestly, I was just bored and scrolling through to see what was on and figured ill give this ten minutes. I figured it would be the same boring game shows and i would switch in half that time. BOY WAS I WRONG! This show is gut busting hilarious and extremely creative take on a summer game show. Adam Scott does a great Job playing the narcissistic host and the voice overs by Ryan Reynolds were to die for. Literally spit my drink out during some jokes. Definitely what we need during this pandemic. Puts a Guaranteed smile on your face plus people are winning money or getting hit in the face with a tire so its a Win-Win for the viewers haha 9/10 on creativity and execution but they get that extra star for making me laugh so hard that i literally signed up on imdb right now to write my first review ever. This and Holey Moley are the Two Summer hits! just watched those shows and this pandemic will be over before you know it!

Misses the mark

Way too much talk and not enough game. Plus the challenges aren't that interesting. Needs improvement.

DON'T........listen to the haters

Where to start on the irreverent fun of this game show

1-The BEST and totally different game show this year. 2-And of years past too. 3-The situations are crazy unique and fun. 4-The narration by Ryan Reynolds are yes...sarcastic, but totally appropriate. 5-It took me a while to place where I've heard this narration before, but due to my pledge of no spoilers, I'm not going to say where. 6-Don't know why I've never seen Adam Scott before, but I haven't, and he is seriously good. 7-The audience is the contestants best friend.

My point?...DON'T miss this.

A suggestion...
Pegasus-1013 July 2020
While Scott's MCing is fun and even Reynold's snarky comments are enjoyable I only managed to sit through part of the first two episodes. The premise is ok, but why the annoying contestants? The first show's wife was very annoying as was the second episodes son. I'm out.

ok, it's stupid and intended to be so
MiketheWhistle26 June 2020
This is definitely a niche show that i was pretty certain that before watching it I would not like but I've seen every ep (3) so far.

Here's the deal, it is intended to be stupid fun which can work sometimes; the problem is that it probably hits 50% of the time here. The games are pretty creative and the questions or what one is supposed to do are interesting mostly, so if you ignore the lame voiceovers it's ok.

The best challenge so far to me was the guy that had to eat hot peppers without drinking and he ate 4 of which two are of the hottest peppers there are and he managed to do it. I feel sorry for the pain the guy would have to feel later but it was impressive. Some of the challenges are very tough.

Great show!
meganneevans16 June 2020
I find this show hilarious! I love the commentary by Ryan Reynolds and I think Adam Scott does a great job as host. Contrary to other reviews, I don't think that the stakes are low. The show was very entertaining and I didn't want it to end! My family and I are looking forward to the episode next week.

Warning: Spoilers
Ryan Reynolds needs to stop his chime ins, Host doesn't look like he's having any fun and seems almost super nervous, there in NO WAY TO LOSE...what? There's no bonus round and all you do is accumulate money...there is no risk! Unless there are some major tweaks this show won't last very long and it's unfortunate because I do see potential here!

Gets better with episode 3
mmpamer24 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I totally get why people would "down vote" this show. It's weird. It's not a typical game show, it's more like a combination of all the prime time game shows, with a subversive twist, plus entertaining narration by - Ryan Reynolds. I don't know if they intended this for a stoner audience but this is the best thing ever. The first two episodes the families didn't seem to get that they're part of the entertainment and not "contestants", and took the games very seriously. Episode 3's family knows what's up and they play along with the silliness. The boxing glove stunt had me LMAO. I'm not going to give it away, so you'll have to check it out. I should also note that it'd be easy to make a drinking game out of this show. LSS If you think prime time game shows are awesome, this one is probably not for you.

Boring
PiccoloG13 June 2020
I was excited for this show. Unfortunately, I could barely get through the first episode. Shouldn't the first episode be one of the most exciting? I didn't care for the host and the first contestants were lack luster at best. The show was slow moving, boring and lacked creativity. The show was BAD! I won't watch again

Mute the narrator
wallace-7518913 June 2020
This show is fun & silly, and each family will surely bring their own funny quirks. But it really wants to thrive on chaos and the non-stop unnecessary narration - which I guess is supposed to entertain, but it annoys and distracts. Adam Scott is great, but this show only needs one host.

Omg. DO NOT misguided by the negative reviews. Deadpool fans rejoice!! Best Game show I've seen in a very long time. Very captivating and a great new idea
jenjen-135345 July 2020
I was literally crying laughing the entire time. I love Adam Scott with his amazingly hilarious demeanor and remarks during the show. And having Ryan Reynolds as the narrator was an amazing choice. He is so hilarious. He just entirely makes the show. Do not let the negative reviews misguide you. They have no sense of humor if they did not think this is hilarious. If you like Deadpool you will DEFINITELY like this.

Don't bother watching
Amy271027 June 2020
Adam Scott is seems completely uninterested in what he's doing here. He adds no excitement and no interest to this dull show. As the host, he should display some emotion, especially when selecting his "new Best friend". I really don't enjoy shows that ask people to be knocked down, hit with objects, or eat things for money. There are a lot of game shows to choose from and this one seems vaguely abusive. I can't recommend it

We have reached the stage of Idiocracy
lockplay10 August 2020
Don't get me wrong, I love Ryan Reynolds and all his little quips in movies BUT NOT on this show. It's like watching TV with an annoying person (we all know one) who is constantly talking in your ear while you are watching something. Dude, we get it already, the show was introduced as 'from the twisted mind of Ryan Reynolds' but too much already with lame jokes. It's unwatchable. The challenges are lame and stupid. The host does his job and moves the show along but the side commentary by Reynolds whispering on the side is probably the most annoying thing I've ever seen/heard on a show. Peace out!

A Fresh Take on Game Shows
milesmama-1356615 August 2020
Genuinely entertaining. Doesn't adhere to the traditional type of game show formula, which (if it suits your sense of humor) is a welcomed adjustment! Never been too entertained by game shows (occasional Jeopardy notwithstanding) but this will bring sarcasm and hyperbole and a bit of fourth wall poking fun at the typical, more formulaic shows in this genre. Worth the watch, funny, fresh, the family participants and endearing and Ryan Reynolds's narration is very funny. (I thought I might get tired of it, but nah love!) If you're not stickler for traditional, formulaic stuff, dec give this a go

Just awful.... Ryan Reynolds is too funny to put out something like this and using all the vulgarities in his movies.

Fun
mspenguin197417 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It's an amusing game. I love Adam Scott and Ryan Reynolds. I was annoyed in episode 1 that they got "tom" wrong. A male turkey is a tom so they should have got it right.

Despite that, it's fun to watch.

So-So
etes9713 June 2020
It's alright, but the corny narration can be a miss at points and a little forced. It seems to me as if this is ABC's take on Ellen's Game of Games but I'm not sure if it quite matches up.

Eye rolling
cschookpurp19 June 2020
"comedy" for this show is ridiculous, the host is quite boring, the games are dumb and the questions are just plain weird. Would not recommend wasting your time watching unless it's background noise.
