Unique, funny and engaging episode
apmdetroit8 May 2019
This episode was quite funny and is an extremely unique episode of American Dad. It's very much like The Twilight Zone and this episode is cryptic, funny, and engaging for the viewer. Rabbit Ears is one the best episodes American Dad has had in the past few seasons and I can't wait for more of these creative episodes. Through this episode, I really feel it shows how different American Dad is and can be from The Simpsons and Family Guy, while still remaining funny.

Welcome Nighthawks..

This episode has all the elements that make American Dad so great. It's weird, strange, funny and a bit creepy. This entire season actually, has been pretty excellent. I don't think people give American Dad enough credit and viewership but since the beginning, AD has consistently put out great episodes. Love this show!

Solid Creative Episode

This episode had some good laughs and more importantly a darker more creative theme. So far this season's been pretty consistent with laughs. It's definitely getting closer to quality like some of the original seasons.

This is so far one of the best episodes of AD I've watched so far.The story is exciting yet thrilling at the same time.It manages to keep the tension going from the fifth minute. If u haven't watched American Dad,this might be the perfect time to do it.Sit down, relax and tune in to one of these crazy adventures Seth has in store for us.

A refreshing episode in a season of phoned-in direction

Just goes to show how using different directors known more for classic cartoon network programs can change the entire feel of the program. While it doesn't change my opinion that the shows writing has pretty drastically declined from season nine and before, it does show that some people working on it still care enough to make it different from family guy- if only once in a blue moon. I wish they would go out of their way to give all their episodes this kind of attention.

Warning: Spoilers
As someone who loves old TV and sci-fi this episode was right up my alley.

From the big fat old TVs (that I love too) to an insane and wild premise this was one of the best American Dads in quite some time. Definitely recommend watching it.

Welcome Back, Nighhawks

Warning: Spoilers
Stan finds an old TV set that only works when he's around and plays only one channel - specifically, one TV show - the fictional "Nighthawks Hideaway" (a spoof of the real-life 'Playboy's Penthouse' (1959-1960), this one even comes with a monstrous Hugh Hefner stand-in in the form of the mysterious 'Aleister Covax'). Stan gets lured into the TV Show (as in, within the TV) and searches for escape with Tuttle (who went from annoying background noise in earlier seasons, but has now been developed into a healthy supporting character (if this were Looney Tunes, he would be Porky Pig). This episode is, if not one of the best of the series, at least it's most inspired. The show's been kind of lazy for a while, but it's nice to see lightning can still strike their writer's room. A terrific little Twilight Zone episode that feels like it could've been up there with the real TV series from the '60's, and could've even been amongst it's best. Rod Sterling might've even been jealous.

A Perfect Episode

Did I ever expect American Dad! to do a spoof off of The Twilight Zone? No. Am I glad that did it? Yes! This episode grabs your attention like no other, and gives a creepy uneasy vibe (which is a good thing). There weren't many jokes, but it didn't need any. Great episode, it lets us know that the team behind American Dad! can still provide quality stories.

Phenomenal

I have no idea why AD decided to make what is essentially a psychological thriller episode, but my god did they do it well. It's essentially a Twilight Zone/Black Mirror episode, and somehow competes with the best of both of those shows. Which is definitely high praise. It also kind of reminded me of Oculus, which is also definitely a good thing.

I'm really curious if they'll ever do something like this again, or if they just knocked it out of the park and called it good.

I almost wish they'd turn this into a movie.

Rabbit Ears

This was my favorite episode of the season. Creative, original, unique and well-written. I loved that it did its own take on "The Twilight Zone" in classic American Dad fashion. The writing and characterization was spot-on!

Warning: Spoilers
The Video Television Mystery that turns into Horror (Videodrome, Ring) is great and i love it. Here's what i like the most (WARNING SPOILERS):

The Introducing of an Antique Televison without any known background. Stan gets rejected from his family while bringing it in. Its not Working, but only in the middle of the night. The Television company dosnt know anything about it, but they are some other people who saw it. Stan trys to proof it to his family, but it dosnt work. He study the rerun which keeps changing every night. ...Until he decides to jump in. Then he discovers that he cant leave and that he is gonna forget his life and family forever... *this deep mystery twist part without return is so great, i love it.*

Everybody trying to escape, is gonna be taken out by a horrifying grunch in the dark (Commercial break). Stan trys to escape, he thought he made it, but he didnt... Still appearing at the Blackwhite tv show... *Another amazing twist which i really love. But now it gets deeper and greater* After all, he kept acting and forgot everything about his family and life..., but after a memory flash, he trys again and finds the tvsnow behind the wall. Afterall, he could escape, followed by a mysterious demonic face. *Great part* At the end he realizes the importance of his family and then started to enjoy the time with them.

I love it, great. Nothing more to say. The Atmospheric was great, the mystery was great, the mysterious charakters were great. The rejection part was great and all the plot twists are unbreakable. I love Science-Fiction-Thriller. This is great.

Something I would like to point out
10086cn26 December 2020
This episode of American Dad was released in 2019 (which wasn't even that long ago as of when I'm typing this), yet digital switchover STILL has not been completed in Langley Falls. I mean, come on! It was completed over a decade ago where I live, but analog TV is still a thing in Langley Falls! That's not something I expected at all!
