Thank You Solvan Naim and THank You Netflix
genious-3541318 May 2019
I ADORE this show and I'm so grateful that Netflix, despite all of the negative press they get, actually bring original and funny work by true artists like Solvan Naim to us. While networks are spoon-feeding everyone the same garbage with the same lame jokes - like Big Bang Theory, , we're getting to see this. And each episide, sometimes barely over 10 minutes, is filled with great writing. This show has such great soul and heart. And that dog! Bruno is a true star.

A different kind of comedy
Bryan-29 May 2019
It's refreshing seeing something new that brings something different from the norm. There's no real way to describe the type of comedy here, you just have to watch it. Admittedly, not all the jokes work hence my rating but I watched it all and I feel it was worth my time.

So funny! I Love Bruno! Cool hip urban Brooklyn dog in the city fun!
bonniezard18 May 2019
So funny! I love Bruno! Based In Brooklyn, Created by Solvan Slick, who actually owns Bruno & loves him so much. I love fun comedies that add exaggerated sound effects to simple Things. Men who love their dog is real life! Music & sound editing is on point. So Brooklyn, so New York, so awesome. Makes me happy 😊 . (Btw, I know this will get some low rating and reviews because it's not for everyone, but for me was perfect, east coast style, urban, cool fashion, hip Brooklyn people, and love of DOGS! )

Funny. Short episodes. Awesome characters.

I did NOT expect to like this so was pleasantly surprised when the main characters (both the two-legged and four-legged) completely stole my heart. Some laugh-out-loud moments. Plus, my rat terrier couldn't get enough. She loved it too. Seriously. She sat and watched a couple of episodes straight through. Hilarious. Hope there's a season 2!

As good as a game of fetch
kayhansen121 May 2019
It's not bad. But it's limited. Bruno, the dog - unlike other dog stars such as Fraiser's Eddie or Lassies, umm ... Lassie - doesn't really have much personality. The show just doesn't focus on him, per se. it's about his owner, Malcolm and the situations he gets into because he loves Malcolm so much. Really, the doggie plot points are limited too. What do we have? People who don't pick up after their dogs; people who bring their dogs into businesses; people who walk dogs; people who steal dogs; people who pet other people's dogs. Each half-hour segment vamps on one of those themes.

There's a recurrent bit of schtick involving a stick that grows on you.

It's cute. I like Bruno's person, Malcolm (Solvan Naim). I like his rival , Harvey (Rob Morgan).

Not a waste of time but it probably won't stick with you anymore than a game of fetch sticks with you.

I didn't expect it to be this good.

It's bruno is a light hearted comedy meant for not so serious crowds. It doesn't have an intricate or complex story. But it does have a lotta passion and humor. It doesn't try to be anything that its not and it doesn't disappoint. If you're looking for a light hearted comedy and general good time, you have arrived at your destination.

Fido of the Conchords
owen-watts18 April 2024
Solvan Naim's breezy little series about a man and his dog is like a breath of fresh air. Propelled by fine tunes, low stakes and portions of perfect pups I was totally taken by it. There's a lovely lowkey vibe running through It's Bruno that feels super underrated. I mean, there is also no denying that it's fairly cheap looking and features a few unjustifiable lurches towards "a bigger plot" toward the end. The core concept, the wide cast of silly characters and call-backs are really solid and there feels like bags more sincerity in this than some other, much more expensive, comedies on the platform and indeed off it.

Excellent

Excellent good fun sweet and original series. The writing. direction and acting is great, realistic but very funny too. It's a little bit of fresh air from all the typical Netflix multi millions unintelligent boring teens series. I loved it.

Really unique show, sad it only lasted a season. Episodes were kept to the point and solid. Definitely worth a binge of the one season that's out though.

What did I just watched?
archidynamics8 June 2019
Just finished the first episode and it was not funny at all. Seemed like a show for kids but they curse so clearly not directed at children. I don't know how to explain what I just saw. How could it have a 7 score baffles me.

We want more Bruno!

It's Bruno is exactly what I need to have a good laugh. As a dog lover you can only love this show as there are alot of recognizable moments if you ever owned a dog. But even for people that aren't into dogs there is still plenty to laugh with as the sketches are well brought and filmed. Solvan Naim did a really good job with this series. A show that I hope will continue for a long time. The only negative thing I could think of is the duration of each episode. Ten to fifteen minutes is just too short, certainly when the quality is undeniable. Even in this short amount of time Solvan Naim created a certain pleasant ambiance, due to his great sense of humor and the excellent cinematography. We want more Bruno!

My kind of humor
aquarian_ny21 May 2019
I don't often watch comedies and really laugh out loud. You watch, you smile, you continue. Not this show. This show though really made me laugh out loud and often too. Might not be for everyone but i watched it all in one sitting (texting everyone I know to watch.)

Super funny!

You don't even have to be a dog lover, but it helps! I like the short episodes and Napoleon Dynamite-like feel to this show. There are a few familiar actors/comics which was nice, making for some good laughs. Boo and I were cracking up the first two episodes. Will definitely finish the season by the weekend. Highly recommend this show.

U must watch right thru to end
cekadah22 May 2019
In my opinion "It's Bruno" will be on the fast track to fame. Even though each episode is under 15 minutes each character shines in their roles!

Bruno is the four legs that carries this story. He's really not the focus of each episode. It's Malcolm's quest for Bruno! And there the story expands to keep us entertained.

Brilliant!

It's just...BAD. I guess it makes sense only to a specific crowd from a specific area that can somehow identify with the Stories ?

Bruno's Banter Beats Battlestar Galactica!
InfernalCritic18 May 2019
The deadpan delivery and camera work is reminiscent of original predecessors based on short comedy clips. The corniness factor as a levity tool will be lost on those outside gen x yet still finds originality. Bruno's plot is completely egocentric to the ideal of dog and dog owner and not exactly in that order. Malcolm, our protagonist, gets into his own shenanigans as a result of catering to Bruno's needs.

The simplicity of the story while maintaining comedy is kind of amazing. I did not expect to laugh as much as I did at this show. I suggest any proper canine owner to enjoy it.

Loving "Its Bruno"!
jtungsten1621 May 2019
It's Bruno follows the life and love between a man and his dog. This is an awesome cute and entertaining little show that I hope gets another season. Solvan Naim is a great actor and a beautiful human and Bruno is an adorable dog, what's not to like. I binge watched the whole season in a day. Check it out folks!

Pointless viewing with no story

What's the purpose of this series? It is the most amateurish show I've seen on Netflix so far, don't get how this was produced by them.

Dog centric comedy. Great characters and situations. Not a film classic tho.
chrisbct18 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Not just dogs, the people too. I love the dogness. I see people walking their dogs every day. This enters that world. More than really, cuz that's all there is in this world: dogs and their owners and the world they live in. This isn't done by Martin Scorsese. Maybe if Jonathan Ames of Bored to Death did this, we'd have production values to match these clever and fun stories. The cast is stellar. I happen to be a huge fan of Jade Eshete. She and her hair and resplendent face and, in this case, an accent, is just one of the fine characters populating this neighborhood. The woman who loves a dog, and their man and, well, it's subversive and it's hilarious. I first saw this show about 3 hours ago. In this age of entire TV series consumption like crack, all at once, well, I"m a Bruno addict. Charming, I love the friendships and the competitions amongst neighbors who are tryin' to get by with whatever hustle they can. A real film critic would give this a rating of maybe 5 or 6 due to the somewhat amaturish production. There's some charm to that but, really, the comedy, the neiborhood based and the nicely present characters, oh, yeah, and dem dogs, makes for a show that I'm always gonna be sure to see every episode.
