Good, solid start. Cameos keep the pace going, while meeting our cast of characters. Hearing John Legend drop an f bomb is a delight. Gary Anthony Williams damn near carries the show. First song is a little soft, variation on a James Brown theme, but the second song strikes gold and shows the genius of what the show will find later. Mario Van Peebles is just a superb bonus. The third song is a bit of a gag. The first totally solid laugh should come pretty quick. If you don't hit at very least a chuckle in the first 10 minutes this may not be the show for you. The Top Gun/It mashup may be the most golden nugget, but it demands a close watch to pay off totally.
