A phenomenal start.

A mother's nightmare begins, as she learns her son is one of the victims of The Hillsborough disaster.

What an incredible start to this four part dramatisation. It's a shocking story, it's still so very difficult to contemplate what those poor people and their families went through.

This dramatisation doesn't hold back, you feel the anguish, pain and torment of the family, there is a long way to go in this story, I think we'll see the cover up that followed play a big part.

Some actual footage of the event here, it is truly heart breaking to watch.

That scene on the beach had me in tears, that was incredibly powerful, it was so vivid I almost imagined the movement of those people in my mind's eye.

The last time I saw a performance that blew me away, it was David Tennant in Des, Maxine Peake hits those heights for me, I'll be stunned if she doesn't win an award for this.

Heart breaking, 10/10.

Wow!

This was powerful.

Why has it taken 3 years since filming to reach our screens?

Regardless of the politics of it all; the emotional side of this would touch anyone never mind football fans such as myself (I, personally, was at a game that day; just down the road watching my beloved Birmingham playing at Barnsley that day and saw Forest and Liverpool fans on the train home but couldn't take things in at the time).

So pleased all 4 episodes can be seen in one go. Real life things are hard to make but this is so strong.

This will be a riveting watch.
