Sex & Nudity

- No on-screen sex or nudity. A man is accused of raping a woman, but the incident is not depicted on screen. The man denies the charge and his mother provides an alibi. Both commit perjury in court.
- The young woman who was raped has an undefined history with the man. They grew up together and evidently were involved though it's unclear whether any of their sexual history was consensual. In a scene reflecting on their history, she recalls waking up in bed with the man, after what? Sex or rape? The community males certainly seem to fully condone the behavior.
Violence & Gore

- A man's hand is cut and we see blood. A brief bar fight breaks out between father and son, resulting in father being punched.
- Two drownings occur during the film --- one in the beginning and one near the end.
Profanity

- "Jesus Christ" used as a term of endearment. Language is near constant, including variants of words.

- There is rampant cigarettes smoking by most characters. The pub is a regular social scene; it is implied drunkenness occurs but this is not shown.
