Watch our Introduction video on the book of Genesis, which outlines the book's main theme and how it is fulfilled in Jesus. Genesis demonstrates how God can take all the evil we create and make something good. And he does so, not because he has to or even because he should, but because he made a gracious promise that he would. Despite all the sin we see through Genesis, God preserves a family line that would ultimately lead to Jesus. He is the one who takes all our evil and puts it right in his death, burial, and resurrection.

Watch our Introduction video on the book of Leviticus, which outlines the book's main theme and how it is fulfilled in Jesus. How can we live in God's presence? The answer is given to us in the book of Leviticus. If we are ever to dwell with God we must become like God, we must be holy as he is holy. Atonement provided a temporary way to take our darkness and make it light, but we needed a more permanent solution. That is why Jesus, who is God's light itself, took on our darkness to make us holy like him.

Matthew shows us how Jesus fulfills the Old Testament. He pictures the Old Testament like a treasure chest that contain old and new treasure (Matthew 13:52). The old treasure in the Hebrew scriptures hasn't gone anywhere, neither has it faded or lost value (Matthew 5:17-18). But Matthew helps us see that there is a new treasure hidden in Scripture, and it is Jesus. All of the Old Testament finds its new treasure in how Jesus fulfills it.

Luke's Gospel emphasizes Jesus' care for the marginalized. Jesus' compassion for the poor, captive, oppressed, and blind fulfills scriptures about the final deliverance God will bring to all who are in need. But people couldn't see it. That is because they, like all of us, were spiritually blind. But when Jesus heals our spiritual blindness, we can see him and the scriptures as they truly are.
