"The Good Place" Continues To Be One Of The Most Thought Provoking And Incredible TV Series Ever Made...
Sam_Ash_7622 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
"The Good Place" has always been a show that I've loved. From its quirky and unique premise to the lovable cast playing the characters, quite literally everything about this show is pretty perfect. "The Answer" begins by taking us (the viewers) back to Chidi being born, and slowly transitions in some of the most engaging and excellent writing in this series.

We get to see all of Chidi's life through snippets, from the time when he wrote an entire lecture about his parents and why they shouldn't get a divorce, right to my new personal moment of the entire show as a whole (more on that later). Chidi is probably one of the most genuinely good people I've ever seen in a TV show before and is easily my favorite character in this show, excluding Michael (I've loved Ted Danson ever since his "Cheers" days), and getting an entire episode about Chidi was a welcome surprise.

I've always wondered what Chidi's various soulmates would look like across his many years in the afterlife (Michael rebooted him so so so many times) and being able to see even a couple of his partners was also a welcome surprise. The comedy in this show has also always been to my liking, and this episode didn't disappoint on that front either. Some of the funniest lines yet were placed into this episode, my personal favorite being; "I have a job Chidi, I have a family, until I read this, I had a will to live", even if its mean spirited it gave me a big laugh.

Now, onto the best part about the episode, the focus on the relationship between Chidi and Eleanor. I've loved what the show has done with their friendship over the years, gently nudging towards them becoming one of the best TV couples of all time. The last 10 seconds of this episode especially gave me a big smile. The moment when Chidi finally got his note back, reading "There is no answer, but Eleanor is the answer", was so satisfying.

In other words, I think this is a perfect "The Good Place" episode and one of my top 5 so far (which is a very large compliment because I believe that this show is one of the best TV series ever broadcast). I'm dreading waiting until the next episode because I want to desperately binge it right now... however, I'll live (hopefully). I cannot wait to see the final stretch of episodes that this show has cooked up and to see the conclusion of one of my favorite TV Shows, see you on January 9th!

There is no answer

Warning: Spoilers
This is seriously one of the best episodes of a show that is filled with 8*+ episodes on the regular. If you didn't love Chidi before, you will by the time the credits begin

Chidi's character arc is amazing

Probably one of my favorite episodes from the Good Place and a great character study.

The Good Place seems simple, but to me, it is hugely philosophical and thought provoking.

Thank you for this episode.

Chidi is back!

Warning: Spoilers
The experiment is over and three of the participants scores better than their previous score in terms of good deeds, the fourth one,the arrogant, after having confronted with the "fact" that he is a bad person, he reconsidered his position an finally causes a spike in his score at the last second of the ex when he was trying to say sorry to chidi. The judge made the decisions, that Micheal was right, and the point system wasn't working right, she also conceded that yeah, earth has become complicated for humans behaviours to be categorised into two narrow slots of good n bad. Humans, it was concluded, can get better under the right circumstances, like if they were being met with externalities that foster growth and love in the human in question. The judge wants to reboot earth but the remote is in a janets void, and the judge is looking for it in one of the janets( good n bad united) they have bout an hour to find the answer and eleanor think that chidi with his wit can find it. Chidi is back after retrieving all his memories and is now looking at a note he left with Janet that says ; there is no answer but elenor is the answer...

So good !

One of the bests episodes, in my opinion ! You can clearly see how Chidi is important to Eleanor. Without the meeting of both, the series would end in Bad Place.

Do not trust the name of the episode

Warning: Spoilers
Despite the name of the episode being the answer, this episode gives us vey little additional information. Instead of solving last weeks cliffhanger, this episode instead shows us a flashback of chidi. Although this was not the kind of episode I was expecting it added depth and thought to the series. We finally met chidis parents and they become a large part of the episode. Overall, I did not expect a flashback episode in a time like this in the series, yet it was a good one nonetheless

This season has been a ride for "The Answer"
edicionccq6 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I was excited to watch this season, but I wasn't so excited to follow every episode weekly so I waited for the first half of the show to premiere and then watch it. Now I've watched these episodes, and I came to the conclusion that this first half has been a wild ride. The first three episodes are funny but they are still trying being very emotional. At least this time they have a appropriate balance between emotion and comedy.

Then the following 4 episodes (4X04 - 4X07) are hilarious. They go back to the first season kind of humor with torturing the characters with unique twists and also they have a little bit of the season 2 with the travelling to the bad place in a mission. These four episodes are my favorite of the season so far.

Then we have the episode eight. It's totally different than the first 7 episodes but it's so good because it shows how far they come and it causes you realize that this show is ending in a couple of episodes. Also, the twists in this episode are awesome, and this should have been the last episode before the winter break. Why? "The answer" was a filler/Character development episode. That doesn't mean it's a bad episode. It's genuinely great because we understand Chidi as a character and how far his journey has gone. But this episode doesn't have anything new to the main plot except for Chidi getting all his memories back.

The conclusion is that this first half is as good as the first and second season. They promise us that in the last 5 episodes left we will be watching the finale of the show and it is going to be something big. Because this time is a fight for humanity.

Very boring
MarioTee2 March 2021
Felt like those clipshow episodes. I did not enjoy it one bit, it was very boring. I love Chidy, one of my favorite characters, but not strong enough to have an entire episode for himself.

The question

Warning: Spoilers
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the fourth season has a rating of 100%, based on 21 reviews, with an average rating of 8.33/10. Approaching the end of the series, I sometimes ask myself whether season 4 is worthy of a 100% rating, but maybe I'm still thinking of the gold standard of episode 1. Chidi is back, just in time for the wrapup of The Good Place.

Filler
domdomcoote24 November 2019
Lazy filler episode. Get to the point. Already done enough backstory, just dragging this out for no reason, other than not having enough content to fill out episodes.
