Even i was perplexed to see garbage coming from a excellent production company like YRF since 3 years. Pls wake up mr. Aditya Chopra and produce good movies. 1 star for saif 1 star for rani mam and other 1 star for sidhanth and sharvari. -7 due to poor script and silly comedy. Even pankaj tripathi is prefering quantity over quality these days.

Today, after 16 years when I think about the original Bunty Aur Babli (2005), I am fondly reminded of -

a. The natural fun filled chemistry of the leading couple aka Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee.

B. Insanely colorful but interesting dressing of Babli aka Rani Mukherjee.

C. Bullish presence of Amitabh Bachchan.

D. Iconic song 'Kajrare kajrare' performed by Aishwarya Rai and overall good and peppy numbers.

However, in the sequel Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2021) -

a. The chemistry between the lead pair Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee is quite bland.

What happened to Karan and Rhea of Hum Aur Tum (2004)?

B. Except for some post interval scenes in Abu Dhabi, Babli aka Rani Mukherjee's dressing and makeup is quite garish.

Even her mode of acting is unnecessary loud with nuances of over-acting.

Why did a seasoned actress like Rani resort to such insecure performance?

C. Well, Pankaj Tripathi has performed his usual self and kept his scenes relatively entertaining.

But can Big B's aura be replaced? Absolutely not.

D. Forget any iconic number, the entire music of the movie is quite forgetful.

An interesting observation:

Saif Ali Khan is supposed to look like a desi and rustic small towner in major parts of the film, but ends up looking royal. Also, a tad bit jaded.

While Siddhant Chaturvedi is supposed to look like a city bred educated and suave gentleman, but still looks more of a desi and rustic lad!

Why happened to the Langda Tyagi level of performance, enacted by Saif in Omkara (2006)?

How long will Siddhant take to come out of the mould of a 'desi gully boy'?

In the sequel, only Rani and Pankaj manage to carve clear characters and hold on to them throughout the movie. Saif just delivers his lines with no impact or single characterization.

The leading pair look quite dapper in their expansive designer wears, in the foreign location scenes that appear shortly after the interval.

They also have a plump faced young male child in the film who manages to score few laughter now and then.

Gully Boy (2019) fame Siddhant carries well different prosthetics and debutant Sharwari looks quite confident.

Both of them are young and presentable with slim and toned bodies, but are unable to create any magic together.

Movie Analysis:

Overall, Bunty Aur Babli 2 is an average movie with no innovation, poor script and much left to be desired direction.

Last but not the least, this movie makes you feel the impossible. It makes you yearn for Abhishek Bachchan! His performance in the prequel was bang on.

Bunty Aur Babli 2 : Movie Review -

Bunty Aur Babli (2005) was a box office hit and has enjoyed a reasonable success over the years. The sequel for the con-comedy, 'Bunty Aur Babli 2', has come too late and it's totally useless and unnecessary. The comparison between these two is unavoidable but the fact that this film carries the brand and the characters forward is surely a commendable thing and perhaps the only good thing about it. The reason for it is, lots of franchise have gone with different characters and stories with the sequels just to cash on the brand values and fool audience, so thank God that this one has remained faithful to its base. YRF's new formula of con-comedy can't be called mediocre because even that would be a compliment for it.

Bunty and Babli are forced out of retirement after a spate of robberies with their trademark sigil start appearing across India. This Varun Sharma's script pits the old pair of Bunty and Babli against new set of the con artist. Then expectedly, the cat and mouse game begins and everything in those 140 minutes is highly predictable and mostly boring. To be frank, the formulas written in this film are too old to accept. I even bash these formulas when i see it in any films made before 1950s, then for 2021 it's too mediocre. Maybe, this new idea of bringing four con-artists together could have been formed interestingly but the lose screenplay makes it difficult. The screenplay struggles in the first half but then it shifts gear in the second half. There are some good enjoyable moments in the second half. Dialogues are decent which follows a typical local humor (sometimes irritating) along with fresh, youth oriented glamour. Bunty Aur Babli had a hit music album and some of the songs are still in our playlists. Compared to that, Bunty Aur Babli 2 music is way underwhelming.

Talking about performances, Bunty Aur Babli 2 is somehow better. Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji's chamistry is as natural as we see in any married couple but some of the scenes are terribly shot. In the second half, their glam appeal might attract you but that's not what i call Acting. The new set of Bunty And Babli is equally good. Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh both get to perform lots of roles as con artists, actually more varities compared to the senior pair. From accents to looks to postures to glamour, everything they do is convincing. Pankaj Tripathi adds some laughter and you know how he does it. This guy a pro-level comedian and actor and he has proved it again.

Varun Sharma could have done a lot better in his debut film with the kind of brand he chose. It's good that it was his first innings so we don't really know what his calibre and potential is. Therefore, we can't bash him for falling down on the very first step he took. But yes we might do it if he repeats the same in future. Overall, Bunty Aur Babli 2 is terribly outdated but that's not that biggest issue. It fails to recognise the old wave cinema within mainstream zone is what makes it A Crap!

I don't think there was any need for this sequel.

Nothing is good in this movie.

Story is pathetic and acting is 3rd class.

Songs are also average and boring.

I suggest you not to waste your time.

Why, seriously why the made this? B aur B was one good movie but making a part of it, changing the characters, enforcing the new into the old, is a complete disaster.

Rani Mukherji, simply let it go, Saif Ali Khan, hope you know what you did.

Casting of Siddhant Chaturvedi, what on earth were they thinking. Pankaj Tripathi, fine actor, but for this role, the casting were seriously out of their mind.

The movie is so horrible, so sloppy, so bad that from the very start you realize that you are in for a headache and nothing more.

Just ignore this one for good and BTW thank you to the makers for making a horrible mockery of Kajara-rae.... shameful.

Really want to give 0 out of 10.

The first one was so good that there is no need to make sequel of this movie.

Overacting of rani and sharvari and did not expect this type of role from saif.

Siddhant is as usual good.

This film is best suited for OTT. The trailer itself didn't look promising. This film is nothing but every scene you saw in the trailer stretched. Only went because it was a holiday, had woken up early and had nothing to do. It was hard to sit through. Saif is a good actor and has shown his capabilities in stuff like Sacred Games and his old movies like DCH, KHNH, Hum Tum, etc. But I have no clue as to why he's agreeing to do films like Bunty AUR Babli. Seriously this is one film I would say should have not been made. It's nothing really and if you really want to watch it you can do so when it releases on OTT after 4 weeks. For now, Skip!

Shocking to see this type of quality movie from such big banners and top stars

The 1st one was so amazing atleast they could had made half of it..everything was lost in this movie from direction to performances

The makers knew that a blunder was made and so they did not spend much on promotions but they could had simply released on ott it would be viewed more there

I would suggest dhamaka and matsya kaand rather than going to theatre.

I will start off by admitting that the first one was better, there is no doubt, but I don't understand all the 1s this movie is getting for reviews. Saif and Rani are an amazing combo, and they bring some fun and excitement into the movie. Siddhanth and Sharvari also play their characters really well. Most of all, after almost 2 years this movie was great to watch in the theatre and forget about everything for 2+ hours. Just let loose, and enjoy. Don't think too much about it.

Saif Ali Khan is not suited fr the character & he acted too bad..!!

Rani Mukerji is too loud and over the top.., they both *failed* to entertain the public.

Movie is a poor show all the way.

Sequel feels like quite a fool-down-job in comparison with its original.

If you plan to watch this film, i recommend that you carry a *headache pill* along.

Rani's acting is excellent as always she is a versatile actress and still very young and beautiful make more movies Rani. The harmony of Saif and Rani is perfect, they play very naturally and this movie deserves a lot more stars.

Wildly uneven crime comedy but still has its charm due to Saif & Rani's precise comic timing. Siddhant & Sharvari certainly lack experience to meet our expectations. At least Varun Sharma tried to revive these iconic characters into such unconvincing con-job.

I have seen half of the movie, and it was quite boring. I did not continue to watch after that. All the actors are unfortunately boring, even the script is very lose, direction is also bad.

16 years ago, Shaad Ali came out with a movie titled Bunty aur Babli that gave us two memorable characters played by Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji. Today, they have gone ahead and made a totally unnecessary sequel that oozes mediocrity & the dearth of ideas in the industry.

Set a few years after the original, Rakesh Trivedi aka Bunty (who looks like Saif Ali Khan post plastic surgery) & Babli (Rani Mukherjee) are leading a normal life with their son Pappu. Meanwhile, a young couple, Kunal (Siddhant Chaturvedi) & Sonia (Sharvari Wagh) are out conning people in their name.

Recasting Abhishek Bachchan is the least of the sequel's problems. But yes, it is sad to see him replaced. The opening credits literally have scenes from the original with Saif replacing Bachchan in all his scenes. If that wasn't enough, they go ahead and cast a new gen version of the duo. Siddhant chaturvedi seems to be in limbo as he still channels his inner MC Sher. Sharvari wagh's Bollywood debut is decent. Saif & Rani are the better Bunty & Babli with the latter stealing the show.

Pankaj Tripathi takes over Big B's mantle but is ineffective. Yashpal Sharma, Ansari, Gopal Dutt, Prem Chopra, Brijendra kala & Rajiv Gupta co-star. The plot twists are predictable and social messages behind the cons are uncalled for.

The only ones getting conned here are the people who watched this movie. So, steer clear. This sequel is obnoxious & insipid.

Non sense songs. Poor script. Nowhere near the original movie. Very bad direction. Nothing is good to watch in movie. Saif, Rani acted below average. Was not expecting anything from new comers and they acted same. No need to expose Rani, no one watches her anymore no appeal at all. If you are planning to watch the movie better to watch the the original one.

Aj maine chutti li thi office se to fresh my mind & watch some movies into the theatres and i've watched satyamev jayate2,antim & this film.i'm not fan of any actor but seriously except antim i was disappointed with rest of the films.satyamev jayate2 is the worst film of this year i guess and bunty and babli2 is also very bad film.there is no story,no comedy,no screenplay in this play and climax is very easy.everyone can understand the climax.aur acting me competition chal raha hai ki kaun kisse kharab acting kare.songs are also very bad.tarif karne layak kuch nahi hai is film me.antim is far better than satyamev jayate2 and bunty aur babli2.i thought that antim hi sabse kharab film hoga.but surprisingly antim bohot acha film nikalke agaya & bunty aur babli below average aur satyamev jayate2 toh is saal ka sabse worst film lagi.

I'll say only one thing this movie is complete pathetic, non-sensical and trash at all. Pathetic story, pathetic screenplay, pathetic direction and pathetic acting of all the cast of the movie. Even part 1 is far better than this trash.

Jst gave it a watch on Amazon prime today, it was a great entertaining watch really don't understand y it's getting so much of negative reviews . Though 1st bunty aur babli wl always remain priority but also this makes for a great entertainment, saif Ali Khan doesn't do a bad job he's okay as Rakesh he goes a bit overboard but he handles the accent as well as he handles himself well n Rani Mukherjee as always gives a really good performance n also looks vry beautiful. The newcomers siddhart n sharvari make a fair performance, so overall Bunty aur babli 2 is a great watch with a good 1st half the negative is overstretched 2nd half and a bit of slow pace but I'm being honest it's not so bad as the way the reviews it has gotten a good weekend entertainer. I rate Bunty aur babli 2 a 6.5/10 stars.

If you want to maintain your sanity, kindly stay away miles from this movie. The people involved in the movie were definitely high on something as it doesn't make sense even one bit. This movie definitely makes the case that not every movie requires a sequel and some things should be left as it is.

I really miss this type of movies, it's a very very good mix between comedy and action and romance 👌🏼👏 I'm not gonna lie! I laughed so hard🤣 it's so funny! Rani and saif showd us their sense of humor so well 😂👍 good job and yes I'll be watching it again.

Me and my family - total 6 people went to watch this movie in theatre and each of us highly enjoyed it. It's really a fun movie to watch. Rani Mukherjee is the best among all.

My request to people who look at IMDb ratings before watching any movie - Stop doing that. Now a days, many of the people seem to be politically motivated and just give poor rating to each actor's movie who doesn't coincide with their political views. In this particular case, Saif is being targeted, unfortunately. Same rating game happens with Alia, Deepika, Taapsee, etc. As well.

To repeat myself, please go ahead and watch this movie to have good fun with friends and family. Also, do not compare it with Bunty Aur Babli part 1. Thanks.

Useless acting from the lead characters, weak plot, weak story, poor presentation the movie is A complete waste of time and money. You can watch a bhojpuri movie instead of watching such type of movie, it's a complete Kachra, I request Saif Ali Khan, stop making such rubbish movies and wasting our time and money.

This film takes off from where it left in part 1 and now we have 2 new con artists who use the B&B brand name to con people and this irks the original B&B who seek to capture them.

1. SAIF - Had they not given references to the 1st film, it would be really hard to believe you are watching the part 2 of B&B solely bcz of Saif playing Abhishek's Rakesh Trivedi.

2. 1ST HALF - very boring solely because it has no soul in it. Very little humor and all the cons look plain dull and boringly made. Everything looks rushed.

3. 2ND HALF - even worse! Just as you feel the film is getting interesting as the two pairs of B&B clash at Abu Dhabi, you also immediately start to realize how dumb , irritating and loud it starts to get to such an extent that you might get a headache. And at no point does the film look back after that, it just maintains that poor level throughout.

4. JATAYU SINGH - introduced as the junior to the dreaded but retired Dashrath Singh (from 1st part), he is just the opposite of Dashrath. Dashrath's presence made the 1st part more electrifying and tense due to his dreaded nature but here , Jatayu barely has anything to do other than look a clown. Dashrath and Rakesh shared an interesting chemistry, here Jatayu is there just for the sake of needing a police officer.

5. HUMOR - 1st half there are some comical moments and even a few in 2nd all that belongs to the little kid, Trivedi's son. But mostly it is completely a big failure. At several places they try to make you laugh, but falls flat. In the name of humor, the film often gives you a headache.

6. SONGS - what has the S-E-L trio done man! Not a single song to remember! The 1st half was 50% successful solely because of its chartbuster songs which rule the charts even today. In this film, by the time you come to an end of the headache fest, you even forget that there were actually songs on this film! They are so forgettable.

7. SEQUEL UPCOMING- I hope the way it ended, it was just for fun sake and not seriously that they are going in for some sequel to this claiming B&B should now be an organization. Like WTF!! That was not what B&B was supposed to be even at first place.

8. PERFORMANCES- Saif is decent but can't really fit into Abhishek's shoes. Rani as Vimmi is decent again but loud, too loud. Siddhant and Sharvari are good too .

Overall, beware of this film. Watch the 1st part again that would be better.
