A family of 3. A father, a mother and their daughter. The mother receives parcels one after one until her husband receives one.

an AVERAGE film.
MandalBros-524 July 2021
The Parcel is the film which is neither a very good film nor a bad film. It started well and also ended in a very good way, but in between these there's a big gap. It's lengthy and repetitive. So, you may lose your connection in many scenes.

What I liked is director Indrasis Acharya has pointed out various issues of our community like unnecessary mob violence, health system in hospitals.

Both Saswata Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta acted amazingly as always. Ambarish Bhattacharya is such a good actor. In his short screen time in every film he always proved that. Finally, The Parcel is just an average film for me.

Available on Hoichoi.

Good movie with excellent acting.

A well made movie portraying the contemporary social restlessness due to increased access inequality in the community. It also reflected how deprived segments in the community are becoming restless and engaging in conflicting encounters even with the doctors and hospitals, and systems.

The Parcel of life!
gdatta-1405713 June 2021
One may say that a good film director is a sugarman of the soul for his audience. When a cinema finds vision in its construct and narratives, it is often apparent how consumption of the attributes in its form and content finds its own voice. The impact and sustainability of this often qualifies the director's 'cut'.

Talking about Indrasis's 'The Parcel', I am strongly reminded of these characteristics and the becoming of his tread in this journey. This is existentially a socio-psychological nuance, in the realm of dark romanticism...the ethos of urban quaker. The objectivity underlying recurrent receipt of parcels from an unknown sender in a medical couple's family gradually unfolds into subjective torrents and tempest of inner and outer make of a man and woman. These take diverse routes yielding diverse behaviors, tending to converge often reluctantly, on a tea-table called home. Then there are new and old beginnings - perpetual hints of parallel or consequential events and escapades and fruitless aspirations to stitch the frays.

The director has swept his wand with characteristic élan and equanimity. The cinematic language has been well-trodden, manifest even to an uninitiated reviewer like me. The form, content, music, experiments with script forms and shot forms, audio and visual editing and the overall cinematic narrative have surely marked this film as another phenomenal direction from the house of Indrasis, after 'Bilu Rakkhosh' and 'Pupa'.

I was recently reading through an obituary of late maestro Buddhadeb Dasgupta by another stalwart director who talked about the passion to understand the inner nature of a human - individualistic or collective. It is often the overlapping orbits of diverse layers of balance that humans dynamically reside in. The chemistry is complex. Our young director of 'The Parcel' boldly explores this mist with a promising trademark of his own.

I always look forward to Indrasish's movie releases. Parcel was a amazing watch with so many layers of human emotions woven into a master fabric. A masterclass in direction and story telling. Also the locations were superb and conveyed as much as the actors (almost). Till the next one is out Best of luck to Indrasish and team.

What a simple & realistic story. The movie ends but the thought never ends. Beautifully directed.

I watched it.on 15/03/2020. And I feel that I am lucky enough to watch it before lockdown . This director is quite different , his story and thinking is very much realistic and simple. Whatever he makes it definitely makes the viewers to think on it. A deep thinking. Not only that the music is so good . We bengalis like to think deep, and director makes us to think more deep.
