Please tighten up the writing
joseph-boik16 October 2019
I want this show to be good, but the writing is lazy. I have no issue with any of the actors; they're actually the best part. Unfortunately the plot of this episode has too many unnecessary scenes and dialogue. If there are going to be flashbacks, they should add to the episode development, instead of reiterate what was already shown.

An improvement.
EddyTheMartian00714 October 2019
Last week I said the Batwoman Premiere was very bad. My expectations were low for this episode, and I was ready to be bored, and annoyed... HOWEVER I was surprised to say this was actually a significant improvement from the last episode. The performances of most actors in this show still aren't too good, but they were a big improvement over last episode. Alice is probably the best performed character, and just most entertaining character in general. She's definitely what's keeping me at least somewhat engaged. Ruby Rose still feels wooden in this role, and I do hope she improves, because she'll really drag the show down. This episode was just much better structured and edited. That doesn't mean it's well structured and edited, it's still not good, it's just mediocre, which is actually an improvement. The flashbacks were just better done. I do think they need a better transition though, because there was a specific scene where it kept cutting back to the flashbacks and it was just excessive. I was also very surprised to see these characters get somewhat developed. I was expecting these quirky characters like Kate's step sister to go underdeveloped, and mostly used as a plot device, but she actually had her emotional moment. Was it cliched? Yes, all the characters are still very cliched, and one note, but they are being developed. As a whole this episode was just much better. There isn't much to say because I don't want to really spoil it for those who are still on edge on wether to continue the show or not, but if Batwoman continues to improve, it might just be worthwhile.

Improvement
GXS_CORE_MEDIA_MANIAC15 October 2019
After a lackluster pilot the show seems to be rapidly finding it´s center. This episode felt like a small fast movie. We are better presented to Batwoman's "team" and possible season's villain. There is less romance which is good and more family intrigue which is quite interesting. Action scenes are good for a show like this. Dougray Scott as Colonel Jacob Kane is absolutely spot on. And will we see Luke Fox as Batwing in future episodes? Oh yes, I will be checking out the next episodes. As I can't rate a show based on a pilot you see? That's somehow immature.

The Rabbit Hole
NDbportmanfan17 October 2019
Boy, oh boy, I was an early defender for this series but after the second episode; it leaving me scratching my head. The worst offender so far is the writing, we are seeing little development in the story and even less of which is the tension/stakes. Overall direction in how some of the scenes are shot has me cringing way more than the first episode. The lead example was when Kate's father opens the door to speak with her at the station. Immediately had The Room flashbacks as his emotion was so off it was laughable.

I have low expectations for the adaption going in as CW doesn't really do a great job at rolling in emotional or deep stories but rather slap you in the face with morals in that 3 min window they have. I want to like this show but pitfalls of one liners that look as if they are physically hurting Ruby Rose to say just makes me uncomfortable.

Acting wise I would say I am only enjoying the performances of Kate, her former girlfriend and her step sister. Everyone else is woof so far. The villain is a weird choice as we just had a similar character done much better in Gotham. She seems to be over doing it but I cant blame the actress at this point as the direction and story is so off coming out of the second episode.

Hoping for a redeeming moment or character addition after crisis because I can't see this show coming back around at the moment. They already seem like they are missing someone.

4.5 - 5/10 somewhere in that area :(

Don't know actually how to rate Episode Two, so let's say a six
aurimasvisockis15 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Frankly, I have nothing to say about this episode. There are some times when you are left speechless and you don't know whether it is a bad or a good thing. Either I was not in the right state of mind to watch it or it was that unremarkable.

What I did not like in this episode were two things:

1) The father. Gah, every time he opens his mouth to be angry about something, I just want to punch him in the face. If that was the intent of his character, then kudos to the writers.

2) If Kate Kane does not go for direct punches of guys two times her size while not in armored suit, then it's her ex-girlfriend who does it and knocks one out with one hit. I, mean, come on!

3) You have a knife, Dodgson. Why not use it to kill the doctor? Why slash it, mysteriously drop it, and then try to strangle her, while she takes out her own scalpel and stabs you with it. I, mean, genius!

What I found funny:

So, everyone who is close to Kate and seen Batwoman in action up close puts two and two together that, hmm... that chin looks early familiar... could it be Kate Kane? But, um, on Earth Whatever the Number Is the same is not existent when talking about Supergirl. So, is Kate's worlds humans smarter than Supergirl's? The answer is - yes, they are.

Ditch Ruby Rose and her ham fisted wooden acting and it may have a chance.

It was BAT!
samofnine13 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It even had a baby bat! The second part of the pilot, which seemed to have aired apart, did it. All the parts came together and there was more chemistry with everything. All this mimimi by the trolls... It wasn't great, but it was way better than the first half of the pilot. The only thing that bothered me was: Why did the cops shoot from the bridge? They couldn't see who they were shooting at! They could have been shot colleagues! But from the character point of view it was pure Arrowverse! Let's hope they go deeper so that we care more for the characters...

Still an embarrassment
confidential-6789719 October 2019
Did the network even screen test ruby rose? Seriously, this woman cannot act. Even if she could, this show is terrible and will hopefully only last one season

This show hits the ground running
daxdsnine14 October 2019
The pilot nicely placed the chess pieces on the board, now, the game is starting. Being a fan of Batwoman since her introduction in the 52 comics series, I was very curious to know how they would introduce certain elements, and the team do not disappoint. The acting is on point, the cinematography and the music render perfectly the Gotham atmosphere, and the story is well developped. Certain new shows have a slow beginning, but that's not the case here. I highly recommend it.

ThunderKing614 October 2019
The show from the trailer was terrible. First ep was horrible and almost gave me diabetes. What do I do? I watch ep 2. Big mistake.

I guess watching 10 years of the MCU really does kill my brain cells.

So called creators failing upwards
cuckooforcocoapuffss14 October 2019
This show is a master class in how to sell an utterly uninspired derivative mess to network executives purely based on marketing it towards the woke masses as a new step towards diverse representation in Hollywood. The soundtrack is horrendous and in this particular episode it veers off into melodramatic breakup music you would expect to hear on a show like "the hills" not a hard hitting superhero show. The villain of the story is cartoonish at best but her performance is infinitely better than the rest of the cast a feat achieved merely by not coming across as bored and uninterested. Ruby Rose is wooden in her delivery and too scrawny to be a credible force within the world of Batman and Gotham city in the scarce action scenes to date, her acting is comically upstaged by the younger actress playing an earlier incarnation of Kate kane. If you want my advice, avoid this garbage at all cost.

Broken pieces.

Though each episode is not making true great feeling but it worth watching it because it is a piece of much bigger event. I will be really pleased to see the Batman tech in main focus, that would be interesting. I am so excited for the Earth Crisis.

Better but still not by much
liam_nb14 October 2019
If this series wants to progress it needs to add some action some entertainment value otherwise its just a pretty standard plot and in this episode literally nothing happened except a few characters hate each other more.

The darkness is hiding the poorly received show
sscialli14 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The best thing is the villain who is a female Joker type , named Alice, Like Wonderland Alice, who is Batwoman's real sister. Just like Joker who knows Batman's real identity but doesn't care , so does Alice know Kate Kane is Batwoman. The only saving grace right now of the show. Crazy works for the Dark Knight and his cousin. The lighting is not helping either, too much emphasis on darkness surrounding Kate Kane and failed relationship. Move on, go to raves act like Bruce with his conquests, make he interesting by not acting like she cares about someone who has betrayed her twice. Ramp it up folks! Wooden father should be put into a coma and someone else be head of The Crows, someone willing to not care who Batwoman is and quell the crime. That's a plot point for free this time

CGI, anybody?
almas-7564028 October 2019
USER REVIEWADDITION Have you heard about REAL CGI!? That "explosion" in the SECOND minute of the episode AND ALL other CGI effects are SO HORRIBLE. :( :( :( WHYYYYY!? Can't you at least pay for better FAKE explosions!??? :(

AND she (Batwoman) didn't know her Batsuit was bulletproof!??? So she could've been DEAD alredy. LMAO, so sad.

Ruby has to be one of the WORST "acters" in the history of acting. A boiled broccoli has more face impressions than her. Whish thay had chosen somebody else. ANYBODY else.

There are SO many things WRONG with the script that I don't even have the time. WATCHMEN S01E01 was GREAT, you should WATCH and LEARN.CGIIIIIIIII ANYBODY!???

2.5 out of 5 stars.

The episode continues to be terrible. The writing is cheesy. The direction is filled with stupid characters. Even Kate makes stupid decisions and the love story is tedious.

It does have some decent action. Kates obsession in finding her sister Alice is anti climatic when they come across each other.

Another solid episode
cameronjames-8695916 October 2019
As one of the few people that did like the first episode of batwoman, I did expect this episode to continue what the first episode did which I'm glad to say it did. Batwoman episode 2 is another good episode but my problems still are there with the second episode Alice is not an interesting Villain at all and there setting up a lot of twists at the end of both episodes that better be explained. Other than that I'm excited to see how they continue this show as a fan of the first 2 episodes hopefully the 3rd episode would pick up its steam action wise because there was mostly drama in this one but still a pretty solid episode.

The characters are filling out
plster16 October 2019
This show is built around family dynamics. So the characters took a little to fill out and their interactions working. The tragdy of the car accident is the center of the show. It highlights batmans failure as well as leaving Gotham. I prefer my super heros to have flaws and issues (no the gay aspects of this show are not a flaw but a positive), it just makes for a more interesting show. I begining to really enjoy this show. Chicago as gotham actually works, Alice needs to build out more but that back story has room to grow.
