There was a clear winner in this ep. It was Nicole Kang's Mary, who not only has the best dialog, but has the cutest outfit, the black/cherry dress. So I chose to be generous in my rating.
Skartston is fun, in flashes, and lovely to look upon, but I'm over Alice and what I feel is an unnecessarily dark backstory. This vehicle is in no way equipped for the CSI-like dark content.
Beth's captor is believably soulless and chilling. I'm buying what he's selling!
No Way they just traded hostages and went their separate ways at the end.
I like Megan Tandy but this wasn't her ep. A hostage to the writing.

I keep wondering is the audience really interested in Batwoman or are they degrading DC deliberately? I think people should it give it one more chance.
This time we really get to see the inside view of Kate and Beth. The twist at the end also surprised me!
This time no LGBT, no costumes. It is a simple non-linear storyline. If the mass production viwers aren't satisfied with this episode, they should stop watching this series. Period.

I would like to know if someone else directed the flashback scenes because unlike the present, those were enjoyable to watch all the way through. The present continues to be a weird mess. I would appreciate the Alice character more if a good half her dialogue wasn't from Wonderland quotes. It is episode 5 and it is getting stale. The worst scene would have to be from the step mother and step daughter. For the dark past that is being told neither character was really reacting in a way that made sense. Other scenes were more unnecessarily comedic when the subject matter was far more dark. Characters can grow before are eyes when they deal with tragedy, this will never happen if the writers keep trying to throw dark themes at us but continually make characters oblivious to the stakes.

One more chance, once more chance...

Firstly, this is episode 5 and the characters are STILL boring. (All Alice keeps saying is "Down down down the rabbit hole'.)
Secondly, Rose and Batwoman are the same with and without the mask.
Thirdly, ugh... It's all been said before. Horrible, lazy writing. Bad acting. Terrible directing.
Oh, and about this episode specifically, did they do vocal voice overs? The breathing didn't match the speech.
And what's with the Family Feud music?

Warning: Spoilers
This episode cleared the most awful secret of this series as we came to know Beth's rest story and struggle. The only thing that disturbed me was Alice's behavior, I mean that's fine you were not able to get the freedom but you can't say that your father didn't tried and remember it was you who accepted the wrong path without much try.
Probably the best episode so far

There were some marginal negative things that I did not like about this episode, but, god damn, this was actually a pretty solid episode. And I don't know to whom I have to give credits to for this? For the fact that there was minimum of Batwoman, no snide remarks or that the episode was Alice's (Beth's) past-centric? Either way, it was good.
Silly and full of plotholes

Why is Alice the way she is. Writer don't even know

Warning: Spoilers
Alice daddy forgot about her even though she knows he did look for her so what are the show trying to say? Because she is calling her dad from the house and her dad is coming to look for her. He traces the call, comes to the house But Alice always repeating these line every time she get screen-time "you never looked for me, you never came for me "and dumb stuff like that.
Alice is grown enough so she would know that her dad can help her Alice is quite as a mouse/ pun intended while Kate is standing outside the door calling out to her sister but Alice don't say anything but it's all batwomens fault and her dads fault because she did not answer them on the other side of the door. Kate did not use her twin telepathy powers so that's why Alice is the way she is, great writing great storytelling.
Skin from thighs are melting on to peoples face for some reason
Skin pirate = They explain that Skin-pirate take skin from dead peoples booty but they take the skin from tights? Make that make sense, well it's a funny booty joke so the audience wont know we all dumb right?
Kate just keep on stealing Bruce stuff. And Kate is really annoyed at him for not having nigh vision goggles to steal from him after she stole the his whole identity so she is really mad at Bruce and Luke for some reason.
Kate has her murderous sister Alice next to her taking a road trip , why not just hit her over the head and take her to the cops. Kate can fight men that is twice her size but every time she is face to face with Alice this happens often thru the whole season Alice and Kate are on the same level when they fight. Probably because Alice is like a boss in a video game.
Luke and Marys interaction is the worst I have seen in a whole time no chemistry I would be happy to never see them interact again.
And Wayne enterprises needs new security because I have never seen security guards lead drunk people who stumble in to a company lead them to the "top figure" in the company in 10 times out of 10 drunk people gets kicked to the curb.
Alice boyfriend is mad at Kate and Alice dad for being hired by white wealthy people because it's a bad thing in the writer mind.
That's it. I cant think anymore.
