Smart and Consistent Writing, Visually Stunning, and Goosebumps from Adil's Tibetan-like Voice
aylinpatacsil21 May 2020
Wow. Actual smart writing. Never would have thought of the twist, but then... it all made wonderful sense, and I was like... OF COURSE how could I have missed it!

Also, having Alder join the mission, I was thinking, how could she possibly function well physically, given then she had her own luggage of life donors. But then I saw that the old women were also deployed, serving as both sustenance and crutch to Alder.

The Tarim woman never speaking an English word, with Alder needing to speak their language - consistent! And oh how I love Adil's deep, resonating, almost-Tibetan voice. It truly synchronizes well with the earth, and it gives me goosebumps every time I hear it, I feel my skin vibrating.

The effects and the powers are very, very well executed. The abilities are all diverse, powerfully captured, and visually stunning. No need for camera tricks and panning to show action - the actors all trained well, and the stuntmen and women are all good and well-coordinated.

I love that until the 10th episode, Raelle is still using the same spellwork she used in episode 01, and that Abigail is getting better at the knife especially after the wedding. And Tally - talk about power development!

It's actually little smart, consistent things like this that makes a show really good. I'm worried and baffled why the wiki and rotten tomatoes give this show a bad rating - it's actually the BEST one I've watched since January 2020!

Powerful Intense and Full of Feeling!

This is pretty stunning writing and acting that I hope is being enjoyed by many..This is one show that should Not fly under the radar and be ignored...Its just Too good! This episode was riveting from beginning to end and had me literally on the edge of my seat...The feeling that this show evokes is hard to describe...It moves me deeply inside..Perhaps its the storyline or the acting but it really tugs at my heart...its powerful!,,,the lead actor, general Alder is beyond perfect in her role and absolutely commands the scenes she's in..The casting in this show was inspired...The battle scenes in this season finale were disturbing and shocking ...the powers displayed by the witches in this show are so well done and unique that it should be seen as a gem amidst so many copycat shows and movies...it really stands out and you feel you are watching something special here that the writers and each actor have poured their heart and soul into..The sacrifice of tally just broke my heart and had me shedding a tear..just Wow! All i can say is that this is an incredible show that deserves many seasons to tell its tale..thumbs up!

Wow

Thrilling and overwhelming, and that cliffhanger! This episode sets this show up perfectly for the next season with some intense plot twists (although not out of left field - the show has been laying the hints for these twists all season if you look hard enough) and I am so ready to see what happens next!

Scylla
desi39319 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed the series, binged it on Hulu in two days. I thought maybe watching so quickly I might have missed a few things (I did) so I decided to re-watch. Now I have a burning question. So, in episode one the "girl with the balloon" burns her face away and is "the dishwater blonde", later, after Raelle meets Scylla she decides to go visit her new friend. But in Scylla's room is "the dishwater blonde" who quickly burns her face away to become Scylla. Based on the events happening at the time, it genuinely seemed that "the dishwater blonde" was Scylla's true face (which isn't shown again outside of the first episode). Scylla runs into Porter (and their story seemed too real for a girl pretending to be someone else to get away with). The last episode Anacostia mind melds with Scylla and sees "the girl with the balloon" burn her face away to reveal Scylla. If they were going to just abandon the "dishwater blonde" angle why was it even introduced? Seems like lazy writing, "here, let's add this extra layer of mystery...oops, nah, let's not..." In a season that is only 10 episodes long it seems like things could have been better thought out without these plot holes. Or is "the dishwater blonde" going to show up in season 2? Am I supposed to be wondering just who IS the "real" Scylla or am I supposed to forget about the existence of "the dishwater blonde"?

a completely EARTH SHATTERING finale
analynnmiller-7796726 June 2022
Witchbomb has to be my favorite television finale ever, I couldn't believe I was watching a 40 minute episode! It felt so cinematic like a Marvel movie but executed BETTER. Each character got their own cliffhanger and I love that. I wish more season 1 finales could have the same amount of flair and love for the story they're telling. This show is masterclass, can't find anything like it and probably never will.
