The player who everybody thought would win the final challenge won the final challenge, the player who everybody thought would be voted out in 3rd place was voted out in 3rd place, and the player who everybody thought would win....won. The only surprise was that the losing finalist got one vote - I expected none. The reunion was awkward for reasons beyond the production's control (coronavirus outbreak, no audience, multiple absent contestants, Jonathan reading the votes from L.A.!), but it was not helped by such opening statements as Jonathan's "This was the best Australian Survivor season by far", to which even the players themselves reacted with an extremely mild applause; season 2 was miles better. What you COULD make an argument for is that this season has the best, or at least the flashiest, Australian Survivor winner. *** out of 4.
