"No Safe Spaces"

Warning: Spoilers
In this program, Tucker interviewed the documentary filmmakers Adam Corolla and Dennis Praeger, whose new film "No Space Spaces" opens this month.

The film addresses the shocking degree to which free speech in America has been suppressed in recent years, especially on American college campuses. Corolla and Prager believe that the pendulum is beginning to swing back to one of foundation principles of our nation.

In clips from the film, there was the graphic illustration of ugly confrontation and violence on college campuses with no consciousness of the first amendment. The most prestigious of our universities would appear to have the most virulent track record of finding ways to suppress conservative speakers.

The second and related theme of the film is to challenge the core tenets of the political correctness movement. The filmmakers wanted to send a clear message both to universities and to Hollywood about the dangers of PC extremism.

Prager identified three categories of Americans reacting to the current crises: those who fight; those who support the fighters; and those who do nothing. While the latter group is the vast majority, the major catalyst for change is the individual who at least supports the fighters.

The film was described as bipartisan with commentators from both the left and the right. Corolla stressed that there is presently a world of moral difference between liberals, who espouse traditional values of reform, and the extremists on the Left. The filmmakers noted that today's comedians are beginning to speak out against PC. In the short term, the comedians may be leading the charge.

If "No Safe Spaces" is successful, it may portend more of its kind to come. The film will have an opening screening in Phoenix on October 24.
